Coral grass village Notorinosou Kagariya

Nice view of the glasswort fields. Many birds visit, including red crowned crane, white tailed eagle, common pochard, grey heron etc. Great for birdwatchers. Food also excellent, fish was very fresh.

This ryokan is located right in front of the coral grass. The room was a little dated but the entire building is a old Japanese building structure so cannot expect this to be a modern place. The onsen was a little disappointing without an outdoor onsen, amenities was inadequate (the usual comb and hair dryer is not available at the onsen. You have to return to your room to dry your hair.) The driver and breakfast was delicious, appreciate that they offer coffee, milk and juice with their Japanese breakfast.

Breakfast and Dinner service especially the boiled kinki fish was excellent. Onsen was just a public bath. We had an unpleasant encounter where the restroom door was accidentally locked from inside around 10pm. Called the front desk guy who promised to send someone up to check but no one did as we waited throughout the night. We had to approach an old kind lady around 530am the next morning who arranged for the fix around 630am.

I really enjoyed this accommodation. I booked a twin room with private onsen and half board. Love the private onsen, the dinner, breakfast, pyjamas, the service and the location which is a short walk to the Ubaranai Coral Grass Colony and Lake Notoro.

Location is more convenient for self-driving group. The food is very nice and room is spacious.

Nice traditional ryokan. Food was gorgeous !!

Every Meal is excellent during our stay. Besides the food tastes delicious. It was well-decorated.
