Ibis Budget Sydney East

Our entire stay here was delightful and the experience was fantastic – highly recommend it! A special thanks to the hotel's front desk for their thoughtfulness; they allowed us to check in early when we arrived in the morning and even arranged a quiet king-size room on a high floor. The environment was serene and peaceful, which really maximized our rest quality! The hotel also offers self-service laundry and drying facilities. For those on long trips, being able to wash and dry clothes anytime is incredibly convenient, saving both time and effort! The breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious! I particularly enjoyed the waffles, the grilled cheese and ham sandwiches, and the tasty oat latte. It was a perfect way to start each day feeling energized and satisfied. But the biggest plus is the amazing location! The hotel is within walking distance of the museum and Hyde Park. There's also a superb friggitoria serving pasta nearby, as well as various other restaurants, a Coles supermarket, and pharmacies. With multiple bus stops and Kings Cross Metro Station close by, transportation is incredibly convenient! The only minor downside: there was some dust and cobwebs around the air conditioning vent. Future housekeeping should pay closer attention to this area.

Larger than I expected, but there were no slippers, so you need to bring your own and a toothbrush/toothpaste. My room was directly opposite the elevator, which was a bit noisy... Even though the room faced the street, it wasn't particularly loud. From the 4th floor, you can get a beautiful view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House! Overall, I'm quite satisfied.

Overall, it's pretty good, and the price is excellent for Sydney. The hotel is located on a hill, which can be inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage. The room key card was a bit faulty; I had to swipe it more than ten times every time to get in.

The location wasn't as convenient as I'd understood; it was about a 25-40 minute walk to any of the major attractions, which was a bit of an awkward distance. Luckily, the Sydney weather in May was great, so I just considered it good exercise! Even for the bus, it was about a 10-minute walk to the stop, so I ended up walking everywhere. The room was small and the amenities were pretty basic, much like what you'd expect from a budget hotel.
