Sinclairs Darjeeling

The hotel is good location wise, staffs were pretty nice. I found the rooms to be less specious and there is no air conditioner in yhe hotel.

We had a really nice stay at this hotel. The atmosphere was relaxing and we felt comfortable throughout. We especially enjoyed spending time playing billiards and chess, which made our stay even more fun and memorable. Overall, a pleasant experience that we would happily recommend.

Costly. Not completely value for money. They could offer some pick and drop service. The front road is 60 degree inclined road which is very difficult for elder people to climb.

We had a genuinely wonderful experience here. If you’re looking for a calmer, more secluded stay away from the hustle and bustle, while still being close enough to enjoy it when you want to, this hotel is a great choice. What really makes the hotel stand out, though, is the staff. The restaurant team deserves a special mention—they are an incredibly hardworking, warm, and genuinely friendly crew. Every interaction felt sincere, and they consistently went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. The rest of the hotel team was equally helpful and pleasant. The evening manager (forgot his name) was always approachable and happy to have a quick chat, share local recommendations, or simply check in on how things were going. On the day of checkout, Pragya was also extremely helpful and eager to assist us with anything we needed. It’s these little interactions and the attitude of the people that truly make a hotel what it is. The property itself is clean, well maintained, and the amenities are well kept. You can tell there is genuine effort going into maintaining the place and ensuring guests have a comfortable stay. The one area I would recommend improving is the Wi-Fi. In 2026, connectivity has become an essential part of travel, particularly in the mountains where mobile reception can be unpredictable. A stronger and more reliable Wi-Fi connection would make an already great experience even better. Overall, a lovely stay and a big congratulations to the entire team. The people are what give this hotel its character, and their warmth and hospitality really stood out to us. I work in the same industry so I respect genuine care and hospitality!

One of the best Darjeeling experiences ever... Thanks to Sinclairs. Wonderful food, beautiful ambience, the hotel is located at a height where the entire Darjeeling city can be seen. The icing on the cake the breathtaking views of the Kanchenjunga peaks from the rooms as well as the balcony. Till now the BEST Darjeeling experience EVER. Thanks Sinclairs, your team is superb, very warm and courteous. Will suggest it to every single person who visits here..

Wonderful people here. Super friendly and helpful staff. I had no idea I left some things in my room at check out but they found and brought me everything. If you like peaceful, traditional and friendly, this is the place to be. Thank you Pragya and Om and everyone.

I sojourned at the Sinclairs Darjeeling for a week and had the chance to experience their restaurant at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The hotel is located in a small, rather steep lateral street. Not only the site is charming and quiet; it offers stunning sights of Darjeeling, the Kanchenjunga, and the neighbours' beautiful garden, which is the home of various birds. My room was spacious and clean, but one electrical outlet was not working properly. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and accommodated my special request when for a brief time I was sick. The restaurant offered a variety of fresh, tasty food. Breakfast was abondant. Attached are pictures captured from my room.

We had a great experience at Sinclairs Darjeeling. Most of the experiences were great. There were also a few areas for improvement. I also have some unsolicited tips for future visitors. Listing them all. Overall, we loved it and would surely consider it when revisiting Darjeeling. Great: * Location and views from the viewing deck and the Khangchendzonga (yep, that is the real name) facing rooms. Getting a clear glimpse of the peak depends a lot on luck. Fortunately, we got a clear peak view on our checkout day (phew)! I am attaching a pic as viewed from our hotel room (snapped on phone, no fancy camera) with this review. * Restaurant and housekeeping room service were efficient and reliable. They consistently met our requests and delivered items promptly. In contrast, we’ve had less dependable service, requiring repeated follow-ups, at higher-end hotels. Sinclair's Darjeeling excelled in this regard. * Restaurant staff are super, and it is worth mentioning. Due to the Gulf War-induced LPG restrictions, the hotel is running a limited (but carefully chosen) menu. We had all our meals in the restaurant (rather than room service) because we like it that way. The service is great. They anticipate your table needs and come promptly to help with serving. We enquired about a local dish (Gundruk) which was not on the menu. But seeing our interest, the staff offered to arrange it for us with a 24-hour notice. * The hotel can be considered a mini museum. On all the floors, there are fantastic informative posters about Darjeeling. On the ground floor, there is information about Darjeeling Himalayan Railways(DHR), local attractions, and local dishes (this was our inspiration for Gundruk). On the first floor, it is Darjeeling history/geography and other trivia. On the second floor, there are interesting details of all the famous movies shot in Darjeeling. Do take the time to glance through all. I did so. In case I creeped out other guests when they saw me standing outside their door, my apologies. I was just going through the posters and had no other sinister motives. Talking about the museum experience, it is not just the posters. On the ground floor, there are some old antique pieces/curios kept with helpful descriptions. * A small but nicely stocked library from which you can issue books. Okay: * Voice and sound carry over easily from one room to another. If you must have a confidential conversation, do it quietly if you don’t want to be overheard. Better soundproofing is welcome, but we could live with it. If I may add, it adds to the fun. * The internet connectivity is not continuous. I think it is not the hotel’s fault, but more of a structural infrastructure issue with the entire Darjeeling area. I could still manage to work remotely with occasional call drops. If you must work, you can set your colleagues' expectations about sudden call drops (which can be reconnected within 5-10 minutes). On second thoughts, why should one bother about the office
