Beautifully designed, incredibly comfortable and packed with those thoughtful little touches that make you realise someone has genuinely thought about what guests might need. Sitting on our balcony, coffee in hand, watching the first light creep across the jungle while monks chanted in the distance and the rainforest slowly woke up around us — birds calling, animals stirring and the whole landscape coming alive — was an experience I will never forget. And on a clear day, the views stretch all the way towards the coast. Honestly, you could sit there for hours and still find yourself staring. Then there’s the food. Absolutely excellent. Fresh, beautifully presented and full of flavour. But even the food has some serious competition from the staff. They are exceptionally well trained, polished and professional, yet somehow retain that wonderfully warm, genuine Sri Lankan friendliness. Nothing is too much trouble. You never feel like you're simply being served — you feel genuinely looked after. And perhaps that’s what makes Dream Cliff so special. If you want nightlife, restaurants, activity and plenty going on, choose Ella. But if you want to wake up somewhere that feels like you've discovered your own private corner of Sri Lanka… where the jungle is your alarm clock, the views make you stop mid-conversation, the food is superb and the service makes you feel like an honoured guest… Choose Dream Cliff. We arrived as part of a tour expecting another beautiful hotel. We left wondering how quickly we could come back. Dream Cliff wasn’t just our favourite hotel of the trip — it was one of the experiences of the entire holiday.
