Hyatt On The Bund Shanghai

The Grand Hyatt Shanghai is located on the North Bund, west of the Huangpu River, and is about a 15-minute drive from Lujiazui, Xintiandi, and Nanjing East Road. The hotel has 620 rooms, 80% of which offer views of the Huangpu River. You can get a close-up look at the magnificent Lujiazui financial district and the century-old Bund architectural complex. We stayed in room 07, which offered a very clear view of the 'three-piece suit' (Lujiazui skyscrapers), the North Bund, and the Huangpu River. It's a hotel with great value for money.

The room features floor-to-ceiling windows and a minimalist design, offering stunning views of the Huangpu River and Lujiazui skyline right from the bed. The breakfast spread is excellent, with a wide variety of both Chinese and Western options. After eating, a stroll along the North Bund riverside, enjoying the breeze, is incredibly relaxing. If you're looking for a city getaway, this hotel offers a great experience from its views to its dining, and the service is also excellent. This is my second stay here! Rosten provided incredibly warm, thoughtful, and attentive service. Next time, Hyatt will still be my top choice!!

The pre-stay concierge service was enthusiastic and responsive. All hotel staff were professional and well-trained. The spacious room, expansive views, and delicious Western and Chinese breakfast in the morning, along with the tasty coffee in the afternoon, made this stay comfortable and relaxing. It was great value for money.

Let's start with the positives: the restaurant service was excellent, and breakfast was decent. The river view from the higher floors is fantastic, definitely worth it for the price. Make sure to get a high-floor room. The lounge staff on the 32nd floor were also very good, and the room itself was spacious and bright. The housekeeping staff were pleasant too. Now, let's talk about the other experiences: They said check-in was at 3 PM, but when I arrived at 5 PM, I still had to stand at the front desk for over ten minutes while they sorted out a room. I had booked a twin-bed room with a river view, but the first room they gave me was on a low floor, looking out onto rooftops. Did I travel all this way to stare at roofs? I insisted on a room change, and eventually, they offered a king bed with an extra bed. So, I'm not sure if that's a good or bad solution, you can judge for yourselves.

The room was clean and spacious, and most importantly, it was right by the Huangpu River. Opening the window, I could see the Oriental Pearl Tower and the Lujiazui 'three-piece set' (referring to the three iconic skyscrapers), which made for amazing photos. The experience was fantastic! The hotel service was excellent; you can look for William Song, whose service was meticulous and thoughtful. Highly recommended.

Next time I'm in Shanghai, Hyatt on the Bund will still be my top choice. It's in the prime location of North Bund, and from the room, you get a 270-degree river view, encompassing everything from Puxi to the Pudong 'three-piece set.' The quality is consistently good, and the stay experience was excellent. Miss Lorna was incredibly thoughtful and attentive, and very polite. Many thanks to Miss Lorna for her care. I'll definitely choose Hyatt on the Bund again on my next visit to Shanghai!

Had a fantastic stay this time! The 270-degree river view, with a full panorama from Puxi to Pudong's 'three-piece suit' (landmarks), the night view was absolutely stunning! 📸 A special shout-out to Loma, she was beautiful, kind, and incredibly thoughtful, making my stay feel as warm as being at home.🏨 Located in North Bund, it's great value for money! The room offered a fantastic view. As for the facilities, they had everything you'd expect. The service was up to five-star hotel standards, which was great! The hotel breakfast was excellent, fresh and diverse, and of good quality. The only minor drawback was that the hotel is a bit older, and the hallway on our floor had a slight musty smell.

Check-in was a bit frustrating. The person ahead of me had an issue with their booking channel that took 20 minutes to resolve, and the front desk didn't bother to open another queue. I had to re-queue myself. Their problem-solving skills definitely need improvement. The Bund view from the hotel, however, was no joke – genuinely good. Note that the West Building only offers views of the Oriental Pearl Tower; for a view of the entire financial district, you absolutely need to book the East Building. It poured rain the day I was there, completely ruining the river view, which was a bit of a waste. The shower stall was cramped to fit a bathtub, making it even smaller than those in budget hotels. Parking is free, and you just cross the street from the underground garage to reach the riverside, which is convenient.
