The hotel was hard to find. It was a very hot day, and I had to walk for about 30 minutes looking for it. There were no signs, no directions, or anything that would help. Locals helped. It turns out you had to enter what seemed like a private courtyard and pass through some kind of kitchen to get to the hotel grounds. Then another 10 minutes of searching for the reception floor. The staff was extremely unfriendly. The woman at reception never said hello and mumbled instructions and rules in rapid, memorized English, reading them so fast I couldn't even translate them in my head. Extreme disrespect. Then she gave me a key card that didn't work twice. I was tired and had to walk up and down three times, and finally she just went off somewhere. I had to wait for her for 30 minutes and then get my passport back. I spent two hours on bureaucratic procedures instead of relaxing. You won't see a smile from the staff at this hotel; you're not welcome here. I was supposed to have a room with a mountain view, but they gave me a room with a view of the bushes; they refused to change. There's no hot water in the bathroom, and the bed linen is stained with blood. The entire room is in disrepair; the wood paneling is falling off the baseboards, and the floor is covered in wood splinters. I tried to call reception on the internal phone, but it was broken. They don't provide drinking water. The refrigerator is broken. Hair is everywhere. During the day, you have to rent sun loungers, as the hotel doesn't even have its own small beach. Breakfast is mediocre; they thoroughly check your documents before allowing you to eat. The staff interferes with my meal; they kept coming up to me and asking if I'd eaten. I lost my desire to eat when they were standing over me. They gave me a discount at their restaurant. After comparing prices with other restaurants, I realized I wouldn't need the discount. The WiFi is practically non-existent, as it disconnects every three minutes. And the icing on the cake was the checkout: they demanded I pay a tax, but not 1 euro, but 1.5 euros. For me, 50 cents doesn't matter, but it highlights their pettiness and greed. I asked for a receipt, but she refused to give it to me, claiming the printer was broken. She probably pocketed the 50 cents, and she didn't even say hello; it's probably unpleasant. She promised to mail a receipt, but apparently she did it with a pigeon. I was looking for a hotel in Petrovac for two weeks to spend with friends who were arriving later, and I booked this hotel for one night to try it out and was completely disappointed. I ended up finding another hotel that was much better and had friendlier staff. I don't recommend it.

Overall impressions are mixed. Regarding check-in, it starts at 3:00 PM. We arrived very early, and as is typical at other hotels, you can pay a little extra to check in earlier or to be offered alternative options for a more comfortable stay. Perhaps, of course, there were too many guests, and there were no options for showering or freshening up. We were offered access to the spa area. So, we simply spent about 6-9 hours on the sun loungers🫠🫠🫠 The spa area itself leaves much to be desired in terms of cleanliness. The indoor pool was dirty and sandy; apparently, guests swam first in the sea and then in the pool. It wasn't cleaned until the second day. The sauna and hammam look untidy and need repair/cleaning. Broken ladles. The food was very good. There was a wide selection, and everything was delicious. The location was also excellent. The hotel is located on the coast, with a trail to a viewing platform and a beautiful walkway to another beach nearby. There are plenty of good places to eat nearby. To summarize, if you have no other options, you can stay here. Otherwise, it's not worth it.

The location is great, about 5 minutes to the beach. The breakfasts are excellent, high-quality and delicious. However, parking is a paid service, 10 euros per day, although it's free with the card. And the parking lot is very small. The air conditioning is powerful. Cleanliness is a 4. The reception speaks English.

I have visited that hotel second time. The hotel is great. All working people there are very nice and helpful. The area is amazing. It is very good for people with small children. Everything is near. I love that place.

Our room was clean and had a beautiful view of the ocean. Breakfast was vast but nothing was cooled and after sitting out in 35 degree heat for several hours every morning, it was not food safe. Nothing was covered and many guests were coughing and sneezing and using their hands to pick up food. The sauna and steam room needed a deep clean but the pools were lovely and a good temperature. Hot water in the rooms did not work and showers/baths were lukewarm at best. Beds were comfortable and parking was easy. Overall a decent hotel but this is not a luxury hotel by any means.

This was the fourth and final hotel that we stayed at during our Jules Verne ‘Montenegro Explorer’ tour, and we stayed there for 3 nights. It’s at the west end of Petrovac, just behind the front row of restaurants. When you arrive, the lobby area gives a good impression – it is spacious and cool, which was very much appreciated when we arrived after a long day of travelling. Check in was swift and we were delighted to find that we had been allocated to room 203, which was on the same level as the reception and had a pool and partial sea view. The décor of the room was rather outdated, but this was offset by a good amount of storage space plus a balcony. It was warm, but not too hot, on our first evening, so we left the balcony door open rather than using the air conditioning. The following morning, we awoke to find that the room was incredibly bright and hot due to its east-facing aspect and lack of blackout curtains. Luckily, we had planned to be out for most of the day, as it was far too hot to stay in the room (and we usually like the heat). When we returned later in the day, we assumed it would be much cooler – but it wasn’t. We tried to use the air-conditioning to cool things down, only to find that it barely worked. We had the same temperature issues for the rest of our stay and only managed to deal with them by staying out of the room in the morning and keeping the balcony door open overnight (which then meant we were subject to noise from the local restaurants and bars). We were also subject to noise from a kids party in the indoor swimming pool, which appears to be hired out for local parties. We didn’t make use of the outdoor swimming pool, as we were generally out during the day, but one of our group went for a swim and said it was freezing. The pool itself is not very big and there were only 10 sunbeds available with no pool umbrellas, so we weren’t sad that we ended up being too busy to try and use it. On a more positive note, we really enjoyed the breakfast buffet which had a lot of choice. Petrovac is a lovely place to visit but, while I wouldn’t be unhappy about staying at the Monte Casa again, I think there are probably better hotel choices in the area.

Just back from a lovely relaxing holiday at the Monte Casa Spa and wellness hotel. We stayed in standard room, it was lovely and clean, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, a large tv (only had 2 English channels) wasn't a problem as we had phones to catch up with news. Tea and coffee facilities, bathroom was stocked with towels changed everyday, and plenty of toiletries. We had a balcony, which over looked the pool and could see some of the beach. The breakfast served from 7-10am daily was amazing, a great selection of breads, continental food, cereals, fruit, pastries, and English breakfast, the staff were all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The adjoining bar called The Ambassador did a good range of food, especially the cakes. I would definitely recommend this hotel and petrovac was beautiful.
