I’m very disappointed. This is not the level of experience I thought I was getting when my friends and I were planning our stay, especially after all the hype. So many friends and acquaintances had rave reviews for this place. The reality is much different from the online marketing shows you. Yes, it’s beautifully decorated, but the space is not very well planned. I was so excited to stay here. My friend booked a room here months ago for our girl’s weekend, and we’d planned to sit by the pool and catch up all day, then have a nice dinner. We tried to book spa services - I really wanted a massage, but they were completely booked the weekend we planned to visit. So we planned to sit by the pool and catch up instead. We got to the pool at noon and there were zero chairs available. There was a huge group of women who had taken over the pool chairs with their stuff while they sat in the pool all day and their bags kept the chairs company. We overhead them passive aggressively complaining to each other that someone tried to steal their chairs. So there sat a sea of unused lounge chairs covered in beach bags and hats that were never sat on all day, while my friends and I sat on the concrete wishing we’d never come. The place really ought to have a rule about not reserving chairs unless you’re using them. The pool area is really too small for all the guests they have, plus they allow people to buy day passes to the pool even though there’s not even space. A shame because there’s nothing else to do here. The staff did nothing to accommodate or even recognize the situation. We went to the spa hoping for some place to sit, but we didn’t have spa reservations and they are booked out for months, so the staff was eager for us to leave. They were kind, but made it clear that the spa area seating is reserved for people who had booked services that day. We traipsed back to the main pool. We stood in the pool until we decided it was time to seek shelter from the sun, and again sat on folded towels on the concrete next to a sea of unused lounge chairs covered in beach hats. So so disappointing. We ate dinner outside while we roasted in the heat as there were no reservations available inside the restaurant. Our fault, we should have left the premises for dinner. Why is this place not planned to support the number of guests they have when it’s in a somewhat remote location? When we got back to our room the fire alarm started going off, and continued every 20 minutes, so we called the front desk. A maintenance man came over an hour later to change the battery, by then it was 10:25pm. He left, and 20 minutes later the alarm went off again. We called the front desk to report this twice and the calls went to voicemail, so I walked up to the front desk and there were two employees behind the desk who apparently just decided not to answer the phone. By this time it’s hours past our bedtime and we are still waiting for this fire alarm to get fixed. The fire alarm going off

This is a beautiful concept however it is poorly executed. If you plan on staying in a room at Camp Lucy that gives you a credit towards your spa treatment, please be aware that the spa will want you to pay separately and does not apply the credit and the hotel will not proactively issue the credits upon checkout. Everything is compartmentalized. Spa can’t answer any questions about the rooms. Camp Lucy isn’t tied into Folklore’s system. The rooms are stunning, however, it feels more like glamping. There were many wasps and mosquitos in my room. Seemed like they were coming in through the vent system. TV was still tied to the previous person and I could not access live TV or log into any of my apps. They came to fix it, but then I could only access Netflix and not live TV. The air conditioner stays on all night so it’s kind of loud. Impressive coffee options! Awesome shower! Still for the price of the rooms you would expect perfection all the way around. Contacted by phone and email and took a bit to get someone to get back to me. Lots of hoops, but such a beautiful property.

Camp Lucy is such a lovely place. We did the vineyard tour which was very enjoyable and then went over to see the chickens. I wish the library over in the spa area was open to hotel guests because it rained all weekend and there wasn’t any place indoors for me to sit and read. Breakfast was wonderful

The property is beautiful. Service is slow in the restaurant and a very limited menu. The staff in the main building were not very knowledgeable about the property so we had to figure out a lot on our own. The spa was lovely and services excellent.

My first stay at Camp Lucy. 1 night to celebrate my niece‘s birthday with her children. I booked two rooms that were very pricey and thought wow they must really be nice! At check-when I was told that our rooms were not together. They said it was because I made the reservation on ******* ..they had no control over room placement,…I knew from experience that was not true. They did not attempt to put us together. Our rooms were duplexes all grouped together in a line. I found my room was nice, but not luxury..no bathtub and it was not private. The deck and living area look right into my unit a few yards away. When I inquired at the front desk, she said it was offered as semi-private…how is private semi?like semi-naked? But the most concerning thing was the noise! There was no sound barrier on the shared floor of the duplex building. I could hear every footstep, bump& voices. The hotel had texted me a welcome arrival text, so I responded that the noise level from the adjoining unit was very loud. They responded with apologies etc and said that they would alert the staff to help resolve the issue. After a while nothing happened no response. I could not rest as noise continued so I texted again same response …much later I texted again …similar response…I had a terrible sleepless night..then I realized that I had been texting A.I. ! No human had the decency to contact me. Unprofessional management and the so called “luxury” room that cost a fortune was a regrettable experience.

My niece recently got married at Camp Lucy, and while the venue itself is undeniably beautiful, our overall experience was very disappointing. The property and scenery are stunning, and it initially seemed like the perfect place for such a special occasion. Unfortunately, the staff completely overshadowed that beauty. Many of the staff members we encountered were rude and unhelpful, which made guests feel unwelcome rather than cared for. The restaurant service was another major issue. Multiple people in our group mentioned how long it took to be served, and when the food finally arrived, it was cold. It wasn’t just our experience—others we spoke with had the same complaints. To make matters worse, they refused to seat more than six people together, which made it impossible for our family to dine as a group. Because of this, we ended up having to go somewhere else to eat. It’s unfortunate because the setting has so much potential, but the poor service and lack of hospitality really took away from what should have been a joyful and memorable weekend.

Loved everything about camp Lucy, will be back very soon. Every staff member we encountered either greeted us or welcomed us on our stay. The ease of checking in was the best I’ve ever had. Thank you again.

We stayed at Camp Lucy for our first visit in early Dec., 2023. We loved the property (and Tillie's) then, and loved it even more this time. We will be returning to the Austin area from Chicago at least annually and plan to stay at CL again for our next visit in about 9 months. We plan to invite friends to join us. Additionally, the Ex Chef at Tillie's (Andrew) was extremely welcoming and helpful to us, as we dined there both nights of our stay. The food and service is top rate. CL is one of our favorite travel choices in the US. Finally the spa is about to open in the next month or so. It looks stunning and we can't wait to use the services provided during our next visit.
