Dorsett Kai Tak

Located next to Kai Tak Sports Park, it's an excellent choice for a stay after a concert or game. The hotel facilities are comprehensive, including a gym, swimming pool, and observation deck. The rooms are new and the views are great.

The room was incredibly dirty. The sheets had stains and hair from previous guests, and the bathroom glass sink was covered in water spots – absolutely disgusting. I stay at this hotel often, and the hygiene is consistently poor. If you stay long-term, they don't even bother to vacuum or clean the floors.

The hotel is located in Kai Tak, right next to the stadium. It's an 800-meter walk to the nearest Sung Wong Toi MTR station. If you're looking for a taxi, I'd recommend booking through Gaode (Amap). The breakfast tasted good, and while the triple room was a bit small, the environment was clean and the air conditioning was powerful.

The hotel does not provide bottled mineral water; you have to use your own bottle to refill purified water from the hallway dispenser. The hotel does not provide toothbrushes or toothpaste. Complimentary laundry service is not available. The hotel does not provide laundry bags. The hotel does not provide universal power adapters. When I asked the front desk, they said they didn't have any. When I asked if I could buy one, they then told me I could purchase it from the self-service vending machine in the lobby. It turned out to be a card, and I still had to go to the front desk to exchange the card for the actual item. Check-out is before 11 AM. Despite booking for two nights, housekeeping did not empty the trash.

Although the room size is a bit small, it's generally clean and comfortable, with a great view. You can enter the hotel directly from the main stadium direction, and nearby there's a shopping mall with a wide array of shops and food, making it very convenient. The transportation is also quite accessible.

I chose the Dorsett Hotel because I was going to watch the Hong Kong team play in the ASEAN Cup. It has a dedicated通道 (passageway) for easy access to and from the stadium, which is super convenient. The view is also great, overlooking the Youth Sports Centre and the main stadium entrance.

The hotel environment is clean and quiet, though the room is a bit small. The view is open and expansive. During peak breakfast hours, there was a wait of about 20 minutes, and the food variety was somewhat limited.

This was my second stay here, and both times I've had a room overlooking the stadium. I really like how new the hotel is and the excellent service. The nearby cha chaan teng (Hong Kong-style diner) has delicious breakfast, and there are lots of people jogging and exercising in the area. Families with kids also come to play, making the whole area feel very vibrant. The only downside is that walking to Sung Wong Toi MTR station during the day, with temperatures at 33 degrees, was a bit uncomfortable (and the shuttle to Kai Tak was too infrequent, making getting around inconvenient).
