I got a reservation through an agent to this said to be a 3 star hotel. Let me tell you my ordeal in this establishment. First, let us start from the naming itself. When you check it through online checking websites its name is Stingray Beach Inn 3 star hotel but what actually is called and placed on the front gate is Stingray Restaurant. There are in total 10 rooms and all are in dilapidated state. You don’t have to be a genius to immediately realize you are screwed and going to spend your vacation or stay there. When you try to open the door, the door will not open smoothly and close properly. There is a gap between the door and frame. Unless and otherwise you use the door curtains, there is no privacy, I mean everyone can see you through the gap and glass they put on the door frame. When you enter the room it has a very bad smell. And in some spots the wall plasters are falling. In some spots you can even see molds on the wall. The ridiculous part is when you are sitting or asleep, in some spots of the room, you may get sand. At first I thought the sand was coming through the AC and I switched off the AC. But to no avail, the sand keeps on falling. After checking with the establishment staffs, I came to know that the sand is coming from the ceiling. They told me inside the ceiling there is a lot of sand. Further checking to the ceiling, I noticed that they even put scotch tapes on the ceiling joints. I tried to complain about it to the reception staffs; they told me that since it was booked by an agent, they can not do anything about it. They suggested me to change the room and took me to another out of the nine rooms, and the other room is worse than the one I was staying. While inside the room you can hear the adjacent room or passer-by conversations. I don’t know what kind of material they used to build and partition the rooms. You can hear every conversation or any sound around it. For me it felt like sleeping on the streets. FYI, there is a construction site next to the establishment. Try getting luck if you want to have a quiet sleep or even a sleep at all. The other ridiculous thing about this establishment is that when you are checking in and out, and for breakfast, you have to go another building / hotel. The staffs said it is owned by the same company. I don’t know why the concerned government body is letting these guys to run such kind of establishment and get away with it. I don’t know the country's laws, but in other places, in the normal world :), this is called cheating and ripping of innocent customers.
