I had my doubts before visiting, mostly due to certain reviews comparing Joali and Joali Being. Our plan was to stay at Joali Being for more than a week, which made me wonder if dedicating so many nights to a single resort would be a mistake. But after the trip I must say Joali Being was beyond exceptional. Nothing ever let me down, and at the end I simply just wanted to spend more time, stay one more hour or even one more minute. A huge thanks to our jadugar Man Chai who made us feel welcome and made our life on the island way easier. My first visit to Maldives did not involve such a butler service, and I had no idea what the job was about. So it was basically everything we would have done on our own but they did it for us, like making all kinds of reservations, picking us up when the weather was down, taking us to the clinic when someone had an allergy… MC was very patient, easy to talk to, always with a smile, and he showed a lot of knowledge about the island so whenever we had specific questions regarding Joali Being, he would always provide accurate answers that showed his professionalism. At some point I was just happy to see him every morning, which was a sign that my day on the island would just be as great as that. I truly hope he makes senior jadugar or even makes all the way to manager one day. Activities and wellbeing: 10/10. I highly encourage guests to utilize all the resources at the resort, complimentary or chargeable. Every day was a busy day for me at Joali Being. I would have participated more if it weren’t for my sore muscles (thank you tabata) and my scraped toes (thank you snorkeling). Cryotherapy was a must-try, spa options were abundant, and the facilities and buildings were just WOW. Food: 10/10. 3 Michelin keys is no joke, I enjoyed all my breakfast experiences and always had trouble choosing from the à la carte menu. I had the best cold cuts I could possibly get from a hotel, and infinite kombucha was A-ok. Quick lunch at Mojo was also pretty impressive: we ordered this curry fish 3 times. Dinner at Yutori looked good but more mediocre, since nothing too special or local. Loved the ambiance there, though. Staff: 10/10. I would like to thank the following people who served us well during the trip (excuse the possible misspelling): From MOJO: Yousef, Alex, Raaif, Nur, Yeye From FLOW: Imad, May, Devi, Prescilla, Jaleel From Marine Center: Sergei, Owen From Wellbeing: Katrina, Lashaan, Marina, Demitri From Clinic: I forgot to get her name but shout out to this doctor! We visited the clinic 3 times CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT??! and luckily she was always there to take care of the problem. Also thanks to restaurant managers Ratta and Ossama, who took turns to show up in different restaurants to greet us and share their knowledge about Maldives. In the end I learned many staff members’ names since I felt it was easier to address them by name. I hope they could use some kind of name tags, in case some people want their
