Rakkojae Andong Hahoe Hanok Hotel

Great Korean traditional hotel with lots of attention to details. Loved most part of our stay but there were some bed bugs.. (we were fine but still we killed like 5-6 bedbugs)

Our stay here was quite uncomfortable due to poor maintenance and cleanliness. We found stained bedsheets with hair on them, and spiderwebs hanging directly above the head of the bed, creating a constant fear that they would fall on us during the night. Furthermore, the floorboards made loud cracking noises all night even when both of us are completely still. Between the dust on the floor that turned our socks black and the structural noise, getting peaceful rest was impossible. One night is plenty if you just want the hanok experience. Additionally, the KRW 100,000 multi-course dinner is poor value. It was far too vegetable-heavy, and you will get much better taste eating elsewhere.

Before coming to this hotel, I had so much trauma from the accommodation in Pyeongchang. Thanks to the Manager Dr Lee and his warm and kind loving team, they have healed my mind and soul with the hospitality I received. I'll forever be thankful for them for healing me. I arrived late due to so many unfortunate circumstances and couldn't get dinner because everywhere around is closed, so Dr Lee asked the chef if they can prepare something simple for me because i've had a long day, needless to say they came to the rescue, my stomach and heart are filled. In here you'll eat breakfast like royalty, rest in zen like temple stay and recover in the mugwort sauna. Minibar is complementary, fully restock the next day. I felt so safe, so warm, well rested. Thank you once again, I'll see you next year.

The facility is impeccably designed, maintained, and run, blending the beauty and charms of old Andong with modern comforts. Staff is friendly and helpful, speaking multiple languages, and even conversant in the details of neo-Confucian philosophy famous to the region. We hope to return again!

The place was great and the position was perfect to view Hanoe village.  I feel like the hotel needed to offer some more food options as everything in the area shuts very early and the hotel only  had a 1 option set menu.  Also it would have been nice to receive some information about the area and some things to see.

Nice hotel. But maybe not the price tag.  Was relaxing and a beautiful setting but for £350 a night I’m not sure what was actually provided here.  Maybe stay for one nice anything else might be a bit much.  But there is no mistaking the set up is beautiful and the rooms nice but I wasn’t sure there was anything special
