Yufuin Souan Kosumosu

• Just a very short walk from the entrance of the Yunohira Street to the front gate. The staff are exceptionally polite—upon check-out, they even brought our luggage all the way out to the front entrance! • Upon arrival, we were guided to the lobby seating area to wait, where staff brought us warm towels and small snacks. Every time we entered or exited the lobby, they bowed (so very polite!) • We stayed in a room with an indoor private bath. The moment we opened the door, we were greeted by the natural scent of tatami mats. The room was clean and comfortable. • For breakfast, we were escorted to the dining area into a private booth-style space. The meals were exquisitely prepared and delicious. • We are already looking forward to our next visit ^^

It's wonderful. The more expensive rooms have private hot spring baths that you can use freely, which is just great. Highly recommended. I had a very relaxing and comfortable stay.

The hotel is a bit far from Yufuin Station. Dragging luggage for over ten minutes is quite exhausting, and there aren't many dining options nearby. The family hot springs are mostly empty; you just lock the door from the inside when you go in. The room is extremely large, featuring a living room plus a bedroom, and a three-way split bathroom.

I've been to Japan many times and stayed in many Japanese-style onsen hotels. This time, I was really touched. This feels like a truly authentic Japanese experience. Personally, I think it was even better than Gero.

We stayed in a two-story villa with a private hot spring. The meals were excellent! We contacted them beforehand to let them know one of us didn't eat fish, and the front desk was incredibly thorough, even asking about other seafood like mentaiko or fish soup to make sure everything was okay. The service was exceptional. They double-checked during check-in, and sure enough, all the fish dishes were replaced for dinner, leaving us very satisfied and well-fed. However, sleeping on the bed by the window, I seemed to have been bitten by fleas several times; it was incredibly itchy. I mentioned it to the front desk when checking out the next morning, hoping they would clean and resolve the issue. Instead, the staff kindly provided an ointment gel for me to apply. (I don't think there were flea issues elsewhere, as I only got itchy and developed red spots when sleeping on that particular bed.)

This is a very Japanese-style onsen ryokan with excellent service and a clean environment. We chose a room with a private onsen, which had a particularly charming small garden and an engawa (veranda). We booked the 'ichihaku nishoku' (one night, two meals) plan, and the food was standard and unfussy, yet quite delicious. The lovely staff even explained each dish. Directly opposite is my favorite Snoopy Teahouse, and Lake Kinrinko is just a few minutes' walk away, very peaceful and quiet. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit.

Nestled in a quiet spot yet conveniently located, this hotel offers a traditional Japanese ryokan experience with a stay that includes dinner and breakfast. I loved the decor, and the private onsen (hot spring bath) was a definite highlight.

The service was excellent, with complimentary airport/station transfers. After calling them upon arrival at JR Station, a staff member picked us up in just ten minutes, which was very convenient. They also proactively arranged our departure transfer. The hotel's location is superb, directly opposite the Snoopy Teahouse, and within a 5-minute walk to Lake Kinrin and Fairy Tale Village. It's a peaceful Japanese-style hotel in a lively area, and everything was perfect. We booked a one-night stay with two meals. Both breakfast and dinner for two people were served in private rooms with dedicated service, making for a truly special experience. The ingredients were definitely high quality, featuring local chicken and beef, which made for a very satisfying meal. Most of the staff spoke English, so communication was not an issue. For hot springs, there are two private baths and two public onsen. The private baths don't require reservations; if the light at the entrance is on, it's occupied. If the light is off, you can enter directly. Each private bath also includes both an indoor and outdoor section. If the hotel isn't too crowded, you can usually find an empty one to use. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to any friends or family visiting.
