Yufuin Souan Kosumosu

This is a very Japanese-style onsen ryokan with excellent service and a clean environment. We chose a room with a private onsen, which had a particularly charming small garden and an engawa (veranda). We booked the 'ichihaku nishoku' (one night, two meals) plan, and the food was standard and unfussy, yet quite delicious. The lovely staff even explained each dish. Directly opposite is my favorite Snoopy Teahouse, and Lake Kinrinko is just a few minutes' walk away, very peaceful and quiet. I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit.

The service was excellent, with complimentary airport/station transfers. After calling them upon arrival at JR Station, a staff member picked us up in just ten minutes, which was very convenient. They also proactively arranged our departure transfer. The hotel's location is superb, directly opposite the Snoopy Teahouse, and within a 5-minute walk to Lake Kinrin and Fairy Tale Village. It's a peaceful Japanese-style hotel in a lively area, and everything was perfect. We booked a one-night stay with two meals. Both breakfast and dinner for two people were served in private rooms with dedicated service, making for a truly special experience. The ingredients were definitely high quality, featuring local chicken and beef, which made for a very satisfying meal. Most of the staff spoke English, so communication was not an issue. For hot springs, there are two private baths and two public onsen. The private baths don't require reservations; if the light at the entrance is on, it's occupied. If the light is off, you can enter directly. Each private bath also includes both an indoor and outdoor section. If the hotel isn't too crowded, you can usually find an empty one to use. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to any friends or family visiting.

Great location, right next to the 'Fairytale Village'. You can step out of the hotel and start shopping immediately. It's about 250 meters from Lake Kinrin. They also offer a shuttle service to and from Yufuin Station. I'll definitely be back!

The location is convenient; it's an easy walk from Yufuin Station to the hotel, with many shops and restaurants along the way. The hotel staff's service attitude is excellent, and the facilities are top-notch.

I chose this ryokan for my first trip with my parents, which I paid for myself. And I think choosing this ryokan was an excellent decision. First off, all the staff members were incredibly kind. They explained every service available at the ryokan one by one, and even though my Japanese pronunciation and other things were probably lacking, they listened patiently until the end. If I asked them to repeat something, they would. They were so kind that it made me vow to be even more polite in return. While I didn't do much at the ryokan, here are a few things worth mentioning: > We did not use a room with a private hot spring bath. 1. **Hot Springs (Onsen)** The hot springs are divided into women's baths, men's baths, and family baths. You can use the family baths without a reservation; just go in. It was written that you only need to leave a sign indicating it's occupied. 2. **Adding Breakfast** You can request breakfast at check-in. They'll ask for your desired date and time (from 7:30 AM, 8:00 AM, or 8:30 AM), explain the price, ask how many people it's for, and if there are any allergies to be careful of. Then, at your reserved time, you'll go to the designated area, and they'll guide you to the breakfast dining area. Breakfast cost 3,300 yen per person. * *After breakfast, which was a delicious kaiseki meal, they hand you a phone and tell you to call them if you want coffee and dessert.* 3. **Taxi Reservation to Yufuin Station** Since we had to go to Yufuin Station early in the morning, I asked at check-in if a taxi reservation was possible. They said they would arrange it if I just told them the desired time, and thanks to them, we had a smooth ride. This service is free of charge. * *However, you need to go to the parking lot to meet the driver and get in.* 4. **Cleaning Time** After breakfast, the staff member who guided us asked what time would be best for room cleaning. I told them my preferred time. This ryokan created so many wonderful memories that I truly believe Yufuin is only worth visiting for this place, if only you have the money and time. Its location is also excellent, right in front of Floral Village and Yuno-Tsubo Street, offering plenty to see. The walk to Yufuin Station is about 1.1km but not boring at all. I wholeheartedly recommend this place! 👍👍👍👍👍

Fantastic! Completely exceeded expectations. I initially thought the price was a bit high, but after staying, I realized it was totally worth it! The private courtyard, private hot spring, overall ambiance, and service all get a perfect 100!

The staff were all so friendly and helpful, and the room was really spacious. I went to the hot springs a few times and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. There's so much to see and do around here, and lots of great food too – everything I tried was delicious! 😋 I'll definitely come back if I get the chance.
