Mercure Langkawi Pantai Cenang

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was separated from my friend and found myself stranded alone in Langkawi for four nights. I was really flustered, so it was incredibly fortunate that there was a gentleman at the Mercure Hotel front desk, ANDREW, who spoke Mandarin! I'm especially grateful for all the help he provided during my stay! The hotel is located right in the center of Cenang Beach, making it super convenient for getting around! It's an international chain, so safety, hygiene, and service are all guaranteed!

Overall, the hotel is pretty good, especially its location near Central Beach. There's a decent-sized shopping mall not far from the hotel with food, drinks, and reasonably priced goods. The outdoor pool within the hotel is also a big draw. Remember, you can get free towels from the fitness center—you just need to register. In the evenings, around 8 PM, there's a fire dance performance at Central Beach, about a ten-minute walk away. The water pressure in the room's bathroom was also good, much better than the previous place in Kuala Lumpur. My only minor complaints are the small flying insects in the room and the occasional mosquito, but in a tropical region, this is quite normal, so it's a good idea to prepare for mosquito control beforehand. The hotel breakfast was also good and quite substantial. For the price, it offers good value for money.

Great location, very convenient, but the cleanliness was really poor. There was no drinking water, so we had to buy it from the convenience store. The room was quite dark, not very bright. The cream shrimp at the restaurant directly opposite (pictured in image 5) was excellent!

Facilities: This is considered a good hotel on Cenang Beach. The pool isn't huge, but it's big enough for kids to enjoy. There's also a lounge and play area in the lobby. Environment: Right outside there's a small shopping mall with plenty of dining options. The beach is just a short walk across a small road. Service: The double beds were pushed together, the room was very spacious, and it was quiet at night. Service: We were initially given a ground floor room, but after speaking with staff, they quickly moved us to a higher floor. Both check-in and check-out were very convenient. The hotel breakfast was extensive; although there weren't many dishes tailored to Chinese tastes, there was plenty to eat, and the various egg preparations were excellent.

The hotel's location is quite convenient; KFC, Starbucks, and McDonald's are right outside, and it's a short walk to the beach. I booked the room two weeks ago, but on the day of check-in, the price dropped by 300 (including breakfast!). Since it was past the free cancellation deadline, I couldn't do anything about it. I wouldn't recommend booking too many days in advance.

The hotel's location is excellent, right by Cenang Beach, with convenient access to restaurants and supermarkets. However, the bedding was a bit old and worn, with stains on the sheets, pillows, and curtains, so cleanliness wasn't great. The room itself was decent, spacious, and had a balcony. The hotel staff were friendly and had a good attitude.
