Toyoko Inn Hirosaki Ekimae

Toyoko Inn is as convenient, comfortable, and cost-effective as ever! We stayed during the cherry blossom season, when hotels in Hirosaki were almost fully booked, and Toyoko Inn was even more difficult to find a room. However, the cleanliness, breakfast, and everything else remained as excellent as ever!

The location is excellent, right next to the exit of Hirosaki Station on the right. A buffet breakfast is included, and it's quite plentiful. It's great value for money. The room isn't large; for two people with 28-inch suitcases, the space was a bit cramped. That's the only minor drawback.

The staff were wonderful and the rooms were fine for a business hotel, but the breakfast was disappointing. While I had the budget, the breakfast completely ruined the experience. Especially considering it was the most expensive breakfast of the season, it was obvious the food was just straight out of a bag. Even the homemade side dishes disappeared. There was nothing proper about it. I hope they improve.

The Toyoko Inn in Hirosaki City is conveniently located right next to Hirosaki Station. I stayed during the Nebuta Festival, and unfortunately, I could only get a smoking room. There was a faint smell of smoke, but it was acceptable. The complimentary breakfast was thoughtful, including 100% apple juice – delicious! The food was also quite good. The front desk staff didn't speak much English; I had to use Google Translate to communicate. However, this seems to be the case at several Toyoko Inns I've stayed at. The room facilities were old, the lighting was dim, and only one pillow was provided. Both the pillow and the bed were on the firm side. I recommend bringing your own slippers, as they charge for disposable slippers, but they're only 60 yen a pair. There's also a delicious Indian curry restaurant next to the inn; I recommend trying it if you're staying there.
