Lovely hotel with a great spa and beautiful overall. The restaurant was very good as well, although quite expensive. Our main disappointment was the change to the kids’ pool access policy. It used to include both a morning and afternoon slot, but children are now only allowed in the morning. It definitely gave the impression that the hotel is moving towards discouraging families from visiting the hotel. Unfortunately, the staff attitude reinforced this feeling. We were repeatedly reminded when our child needed to leave the spa, including being stopped well before the end of the allocated time to make sure we were aware of the cut-off. It just didn’t feel particularly welcoming or family-friendly. That said, it is probably a nice choice for couples looking for a quiet, child-free getaway and who are happy with the premium pricing (for example, around £15 for a glass of wine).

Staff were lovely, cottage was lovely. Restaurants and bars all top notch. What was not made clear when booking the rooms was 2 significant issues. Firstly although says bed and breakfast, the breakfast was £25 voucher to cook your own. That was not made clear on ********** App. Second issue that was not at all clear, is that despite strong advertising re spa, if you are in a cottage it's £65 per person per day to use the spa facilities. This is a lot. And the biggest gripe is that not even buying the v expensive spa treatments (£300) gave us any access to the spa facilities

Just returned from a two night stay here. to celebrate my 70th Birthday. Had a lovely time in this beautiful hotel. Staff can’t do enough for you and so friendly. Food was excellent and the infinity and spa was a delight.

Really lovely overnight stay at Schloss Roxburgh, we were welcomed by a lovely guy on reception who got us checked in and showed us around the hotel to our room. Our room requests had been fulfilled. We used the spa which was lovely and relatively quiet. We didn’t eat in the restaurant but had snacks on our room. Next morning we enjoyed a swim before breakfast which was plentiful and tasty

Positives - friendly welcome, decor and grounds are lovely, decent room in original building , enjoyed the spa facilities. However, our stay was spoiled by our experience in Charlie’s restaurant. The tables are far too close together - we could hear every word spoken at both tables either side of us. Despite sections of restaurant being quieter, staff were seating everyone in same area. Breakfast was even worse - I was sat on bench style seating where two cushions joined so very uncomfortable. I had to get up and find a waiter to take our order for hot food and the omelette when it finally served looked like a dog’s dinner . I don’t often write poor reviews but left with no choice as front desk staff were disinterested when I shared experience. We had come away for a relaxing night after receiving bad news but were left disappointed. The restaurant is not the standard of a 5 star hotel.

Stayed for special occasion for a birthday and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Room and spa were lovely

Hotel and spa are stunning. Staff are friendly. Had a bad experience in the Charlie’s restaurant and the clubhouse cafe/spike bar. We headed for lunch in the clubhouse when we arrived as we liked the look of the menu, however we were told that a few of the items were unavailable due to a gas fault so this was fine but still depleted our choices. We ordered soup, pizza and haggis Bon Bon’s. The soup and Bon Bon’s were lovely but the pizza looked like it was microwaved and wasn’t very tasty, the meal came to £50 which I thought was extremely expensive for a snack menu. Then we had a reservation at Charlie’s restaurant for dinner, we chose the chateaubriand steak which is listed as a sharing option. However when it arrived it only came with one small portion of fries and a handful of spinach as well as a small peppercorn sauce. It was £95 and I would say it was only enough to feed one person, we had to order extra sides. We also tried to order a bottle of prosecco and were told that they had none left. We were told we could have champagne to which the cheapest bottle was £85 and as a young couple we were not willing to pay that. Overall the restaurant was extremely disappointing for such a great hotel. This is our second time at the hotel and we had a much nicer time on our last visit where we ate in the stateroom lounge but they have since changed the menu and it didn’t suit us hence why we went to Charlie’s.

Fabulous property and I would recommend. Staff at Charlie's particularly good, very warm and welcoming.

Thoroughly loved every moment here. Staff attentive but respectful, hotel is stunning and the grounds are delightful. Food outstanding
