Renaissance des Moines Savery Hotel

When I first checked in they claimed they couldn't find my reservation from ********** and the lady told me she need to charge my card for a small amount. That charge ended up being much more than I was told and then she said she would have to have her supervisor fix it in the system. I got checked in, then I was curious so I checked my account and see that they had charged me another nights rate for my one night stay. I paid one price through ********** and was charged another higher amount from the actual hotel itself. Upon checking out, the front desk staff assured me that she would fix all of the extra charges from them only after I had to email them my receipt from ********** The whole situation was a disaster all because of the front desk staff not having a clue. The restaurant staff was awesome and very accommodating.

Front Desk was awesome! The servers for the breakfast buffet were very nice and took care of everything!

Breakfast was expensive, advertised as 18 dollars when booked but actually 25 dollars per head!! Lifts very slow. Good location, parking reasonable and right next door to the hotel. Suite was very nice but no full length mirror.

Lovely hotel in downtown Des Moines. I stayed for the Des Moines half marathon, and the hotel was a block from the finish line. An added benefit was the Saturday farmer's market a block from the hotel!

Great location. Nice size rooms. Clean and safe property. Staff is very helpful. Very slow elevator, especially during event weekends.

Very clean rooms and hotel! Very close to bars and food places. We enjoyed our stay. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful

Stayed for the weekend to attend Iowa Cubs/Memphis Redbirds games. Hotel Savery was lovely and perfectly located. We could walk to the ball field and lots of restaurants and bars. Room was comfortable and staff were great.

Clean updated historic hotel in downtown Des Moines. Excellent staff and accommodations. Conveniently located within walking distance to venues, restaurants and other entertainment.

The standard rooms are fairly small, especially the bathroom. But they are wonderfully appointed, the bar/lounge is stellar, and the staff (from top to bottom) are fantastically well-trained, helpful, and friendly. I recommend upgrading to a larger room for the perfect stay/experience.
