The hotel name is actually Moon Shine. Great location on a walking street with couple of hotpot, noodle and BBQ restaurant just steps away. It’s not very near to Kunming Old Street (Walk 25min) and Nanping Street (15min). DIDI is cheap RMB6-10 depending on hr. Architectural of the hotel is an old ancient structure, very oriental and authentic. Do be reminded no elevator, rooms located on Level 1 to 3. The staff are very friendly and speaks basic English. They will add you on WeChat, remind you when there’s afternoon tea or night dessert. Plus they have free laundry service. Drop them off in the morning and got them in the afternoon. For free!! We booked the Ancient Charm Double Room located at Level 2. It has a window, view to the next building. Really spacious room, clean and bed is comfortable. It comes with a humidifier in the room, while trying to remove it to refill the water, we noticed it was not properly descale or clean for a long time. Yellow stain and residue inside the water container and the connecting part for the water container. Quite yacky, but it was late so I washed it and cleaned it before using it. Overall the hotel has been great experience, breakfast is great w 5 selection, even the bridge over noodle, so don’t need to go out to eat that.

The overall hotel experience exceeded expectations, and the courtyard environment is elegant and quiet. The room was clean and tidy with thoughtful amenities. Check-in includes afternoon tea and a good-night sweet soup, and the complimentary experiences like calligraphy and Hanfu-wearing are very distinctive. Service requests were responded to promptly and handled quickly. Full of thoughtful details and a great ambiance, it made for a very comfortable stay. Highly recommended!

We loved our stay at this courtyard hotel. The staff were always super friendly and helpful,and spoke good English. Excellent breakfast and we also enjoyed afternoon tea and snacks as well as the evening sweet soup. Good location in a pedestrian area with many restaurants in the area

My and my hubby really enjoyed our stay at Moonlight Courtyard ! They even provide free hanfu for me to take photo at the premises ! Their service is good , breakfast is yummie ! Will definitely come back again when I come Kunming !
