When we checked in, we noticed a few cockroaches in the kitchen. We thought maybe they had come in from outside and dismissed it. After the lights go out at night, when you are snug in the bed that has no comforter, only a top sheet, the roach infestation reveals itself. A quick trip for a glass of water from the kitchen proved that the choice to ignore a few of them was a mistake. Dozens. Everywhere. Floors, counters, walls....the kitchen area was the stuff of nightmares. Front desk allowed us to move into another unit at 2am, thankfully. The unit backed up to a nice lake with lots of wildlife to see. That was nice. Hot showers were hit or miss due to in insanely weak hot water heater, but no roaches was an upgrade. Staff was very kind, warm, and hospitable. Will likely find somewhere else next time we visit the area.
