The hotel features and design definitely inherited from a noble house and converted to a luxury hotel. The hotel service is good and the hospitality staffs are very friendly and helpful. The hotel setup is having good view with a swim pool at the centre for every room to enjoy at the balcony. Only short fall is the toilet condition a bit poor maintenance especially the washing basin is cracked and the shower floor trap is improperly fixed.

The renowned Phoenix Hotel isn't worth staying at. The room was tiny and noisy due to its street-facing location, with motorcycles keeping me up all night. The duvet felt damp, and there was a lot of dust on the floor. The hairdryer was so old you could see the wires inside. The breakfast didn't live up to its star rating either, catering mostly to elderly European tour groups. Besides the impressive building and architecture, everything else was a letdown. The butter on the toast wasn't real butter, it was margarine, and the paint was peeling off the sink. This hotel clearly hasn't been well-maintained or kept up to standard. If I had known, I definitely wouldn't have stayed there.

The hotel itself is quite nice, an old building with a charming, antique feel. It even has a gym and a swimming pool. However, the rooms are a bit mediocre. It takes half an hour to walk to the lively district, but there are plenty of food options nearby, and a supermarket across the street to buy water. There's a balcony, but it gets very noisy at night, so earplugs were provided. Breakfast is an additional 55 per person. Complimentary welcome drink upon arrival: Yes Facilities: A bit old but has a hairdryer Hygiene: Acceptable Service: Daily housekeeping, 2 bottles of water provided daily

A stunning collection of traditional decorative pieces, and the corridors always smell amazing. The service and breakfast were excellent—even with some communication challenges, the staff really tried their best. The dinner buffet isn’t recommended as the variety is quite limited. The location is fantastic, right in the city centre. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. First of all, the front desk staff were not welcoming or helpful. Their attitude felt cold and indifferent, which already set a negative tone for the stay.More importantly, I was assigned a very poor-quality room. The soundproofing was extremely bad, and the room was located right next to what seemed to be a main system or mechanical area. There was a constant loud humming noise throughout the entire night, making it almost impossible to rest properly.I reported this issue to the staff, but they only offered a verbal apology and took no real action to resolve the problem. No room change, no follow-up, and no effort to fix the issue. This kind of passive response was very disappointing.the room facilities were quite outdated. The showerhead was old and covered with limescale, and overall maintenance seemed to be lacking. Overall, I am very dissatisfied with this stay. The hotel’s service attitude and problem-solving ability are far below expectations. I would not choose to stay here again.

Great value, and a good location too. Everything was excellent, from the service to the decor. I highly recommend it! It's a century-old building with a lot of character.

A beautiful and historic hotel with a convenient downtown location. The service was excellent and the breakfast was plentiful. I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Yogyakarta.
