The Darling at the Star

Terrible experience when the service staff were so cold in their way of communication. Started from check in when every question was directed to concirlerge. Same to the italian restaurant which didn't make people feel the service was genuine or friendly. What's even worse was when we had 'DND' sign on, returned at 4pm to request to do the daily housekeeping service at 430, the person came early and we asked if we can delay for another half hour and the person said ok. We waited until 5pm to ask for the daily service and to our surprise they said their housekeeping staff finished the work of the day and there is none who can help. Their response was only 'this is the policy' which got us even more madi as they had the Forbes 5 star of 2023 mounted at the wall of hotel entrance. Only after a complaint was made, the room was touched up but can you imagine this is the way how the bed was made and the rubbish were not even cleared? (See pic) I hope the management team can seriously look into this as this is definitely in contrary of a Forbes 5 star :( To be fair, the concierge team was the only dept that came across as positive. Otherwise, everything else was a huge disappointment!

Wonderful family trip staying at the Darling at the Star! Location is good, very close to Fish Market, nice atmosphere with cozy cafes & restaurants at close vicinity (and a large Coles too!) Stunning view of the Darling Harbour. Room is neat & spacious. Staff were extremely helpful, especially credits to a Front Desk Staff named Tristan settling my room arrangement & bill issue very efficiently. Highly recommend this hotel!

Our stay was fantastic. We had a function a the Star. Perfectly situated. I just want yo say just because you have money don’t be someone else you would not like others to be or treat you. Please think before engaging a pompos attitude just because your rich. Be kind, dont expect others to do things for you. Please be Australian. We are Loosing our identity

Absolutely beautiful stay. Can’t fault the room or the service. Was only there for 1 night but will definitely be back

Undoubtedly one of the best hotels in Sydney with easy access to The Star ****** and with tram service right to Sydney CBD.
