Apartaments Cye Salou

AWFUL - AVOID The bathroom flooded, the balcony door does not lock and they put families in the room. When we told them they said don't worry none of the doors lock the maintenance man does not have time to fix them before the next people come. Apparently there is 'security' - a lie. One person is at the desk and that is nowhere near the stairs - which smell of urine. The pool closes early when they feel like it. There is a life guard only for some of the time and he wanders off when he feels like it. Mould on the ceilings. Holes in the walls. Dirty bed sheets. No handles on the balcony doors. They take 160 euros from you in case of damage and they put you in DAMAGED rooms so photograph everything before hand. The shower was broken when we came in. The noise is the worst I have ever experienced in a 'hotel'. Kids ringing and knocking on the doors, banging all night. You can hear everything from every room in the place so expect no sleep at all. The TV is as big as a phone. This picture on the website is not the place I am staying in. No wifi. Better off staying in the dumpster round the corner ...

Great location central for everything value for money good rooms a bit dated no brittish tv towels changed once a week room quickly cleaned once a week pool nice clean lazy wave pub attached to hotel decent place to have a drink and something to eat will not return because of frequency of towel change and cleaning of rooms prices of eating out are expensive so pleas factor this in when booking self catering

I stayed here for a week at the end of August with my two children. First of all, the most important for me is that I felt safe here, being alone with 2 children this was a must! Also the apartment, pool & lazy wave all were very clean & I did witness a few members of staff mopping floors & the lifeguard tidying around the pool so this is something they do try to keep on top of. Our room was spacious with plenty of bedding & our towels had been changed twice during the week. All three of us actually fit in the two twin beds so we didn’t need to use the one in the lounge. Air con was great & we had everything we needed ie plates, cups, cutlery. Please note there is no oven in the room but a microwave, fridge with small freezer & two hobs. I did manage to cook us a few meals in the apartment so more than adequate. There are shops everywhere you turn around the apartments, I particularly liked the one directly opposite over the crossings, we bought most of our food & water from there. The Lazy wave we ate lunch at a couple of times, nothing special but we enjoyed our meals & got ice creams from there daily as they had a great selection. The pool was great, it’s a lot bigger than it looks on the photos & the lifeguards were very helpful as my Son managed to hurt himself a few times during our stay, they even checked on him the next day to make sure he was okay. I found all staff friendly & helpful & all round we had a great stay. I loved how chilled out it seemed to be & we definitely hope to be back.

Basic clean apartments, friendly and helpful staff, brilliant location, pool is nice enough. Now the negatives. The sunbeds are atrocious I counted roughly 40 sunbeds and at least 18 was broken. I witnessed a woman hurt herself when it broke underneath her . I also read a review last year that the beds were still bad and the response was they don't cover the beds for hygiene reasons, so I took a walk to the cye holiday centre which is a sister aparthotel and they had amazing sunbeds. I would love to come back but not while the sunbeds are in that state, I sat on a chair the whole time

Firstly, the apartment is basic, clean and well appointed (we had a pool view) plus, well equipped. Balcony is big, rooms are large with very comfortable beds. 24hr hot water available. Very secure with excellent and helpful staff. The downside The pool loungers are old and some are broken. We witnessed one slight lady fall through one. Surely, replacing them with better quality ones is in everyone's interest. We booked seven nights, no bed linen change. This has to be asked for, and could incur a charge. Towels are always available, and nothing is too much for the wonderful staff

This was my second visit and I really recommend this place for a simple family holiday. The staff are friendly and the accommodation is clean and child friendly. There is enough to do and I have to mention Pedro's paella cooking class as a highlight. It's only a short walk to a child friendly beach and close to Reuss airport. I found the other customers(who were mainly from the Irish Republic) friendly. This is a good place for a holiday with children.k

Stayed in an apartment as a group of 3 girls and we were happy with the stay. Spacious and clean rooms which were to a good standard and well maintained. Basic but great value for money. Only downside was the aircon which was quite weak. Tip - make sure to shut your balcony door fully until you hear a click or the aircon switches off. Foyer and pool areas were lovely. Spotlessly clean - could hear them thoroughly cleaning the pool area every night. Never struggled to get sunbeds. Great location with countless shops, bars, restaurants within walking distance. Under 10 minutes walk to the sea and ***** of shops, bars, restaurants, or 20 minutes in the opposite direction to another main area. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. It was a basic but clean and well maintained budget friendly option in a fantastic location.

Rooms were ready early on the day of arrival and rooms were beside each other. However, the beds beside the pool are in badly need of a change we fell through them on a few occasions and one of my family members actually hurt her back Life guard was also drinking alcohol while on duty and appeared asleep at times Cockroaches in the rooms and in the lazy wave restaurant We tried to reserve beds one morning while eating breakfast in the lazy wave and was told very rudely by a manager on duty that we were not allowed despite seeing others doing the very same thing I have stayed in the Cye before but was left disappointed this time.

A group of four of us stayed at the Cye Apartments in August and we can say that it is a decent three star hotel for the price you pay. The hotel itself is in a good location close by to the beach, shops and a bakery across the road. The reception staff were very lovely and helpful. Our room was nice and had a huge balcony. However, the air con is not that strong even with the doors closed it felt very hot inside. Also, our room was only cleaned once during the week stay, and we were only given fresh towels twice. This was hard as there was four of us so we only had one towel each to last days. Apart from the aircon and cleaning, overall the apartment is spacious and has a TV and all amenities. The pool is also big with lots of sun loungers personally we did not struggle to get one. The hotel has entertainment every night which is good and lots of pool tables. Overall for the cheap price we paid it is a decent hotel, which is lively at night time with nice staff.
