The Peninsula Bangkok

Absolutely loved The Peninsula! My stay this time was fantastic, quiet yet luxurious, making my entire holiday feel incredibly serene and joyful. **Facilities:** Extremely well-maintained, luxurious, and peaceful. I particularly loved the room design. The room had an excellent view, a separate walk-in closet, and a huge bathroom with a double vanity, which was very practical. The common areas were even more beautiful; though the hotel isn't massive, every corner exudes elegance. I especially enjoyed the pool, the riverside restaurant, and the private pier. Taking the hotel's boat to the nearby ICONSIAM was super convenient. I want to specifically mention the bedroom; I really liked the firmness of the bed. Being on a high floor, the bedding was dry and fresh – I honestly didn't want to leave. Also, the soundproofing in the room was excellent; I barely heard any noise from upstairs, downstairs, or next door. **Cleanliness:** Spotless. The housekeeping service was thorough yet seemingly invisible. You don't see them, but you feel their presence. **Service:** A special shout-out to the housekeeping staff who were incredibly responsive and enthusiastic. The staff at the pier were also very engaging. **Other:** Just two small suggestions: * **Breakfast:** The breakfast was comprehensive, but it lacked variety. By the second day, we were already a bit tired of it. * **Bathroom:** The toilet paper in Thailand seems to be quite thin. As two women, we found we ran out daily and had to call housekeeping for more, which was a bit inconvenient. It would be great to have an extra roll or two readily available. Also, while not having a smart toilet isn't a big deal, the toilet lid didn't have a soft close, which startled us the first time we used it. Overall, everything was wonderful. Thank you, The Peninsula, for a beautiful holiday. I will definitely be back!

The room facilities are older than average hotels, and a bit worse than other five-star hotels. It’s time for the hotel to update its wallpaper, TVs, and carpets. The carpets are quite dirty. Only the breakfast and pool were satisfactory. The night view and afternoon tea were also quite good. The afternoon tea set for two: The afternoon tea was delicious, and the Thai milk tea was great.

We stay at The Peninsula every year, and this time I specifically chose it for my birthday. The hotel surprised me with a birthday cake and complimentary afternoon tea, which was incredibly thoughtful. They also upgraded us to a balcony room, making for a perfect birthday getaway.

Whenever I come to Bangkok, I always stay at the Peninsula. It's a little removed from the bustling areas but still very convenient, with a boat service to the BTS and ICONSIAM. I always have a great time! 😃

Let's cut to the chase: if you're booking through Trip.com and the room rate is under 2k, just go for The Peninsula. The location is fantastic, and all rooms offer river views. Honestly, there's not much to see in Bangkok city, so there's no need to chase after high floors. The room's fixtures and fittings are definitely a bit old, but they're not dilapidated. You can tell they used quality materials and put thought into the design back in the day. I ended up seeing three different rooms because I had to switch from the initial one I was given, and thankfully, I didn't encounter the musty smell that other reviews mentioned. The bedside table drawers have various charging ports, and there's a USB port under the desk cover, so charging is never an issue. I went to the spa two days in a row. The first day was very satisfying, but on the second day, the therapist I had wasn't great – it felt like she was rushing through it. After providing objective feedback, the manager came to apologize and gave me a 50% discount. The standalone spa building still has a wonderful ambiance, and the relaxation area after the treatment is very comfortable. I didn't get a chance to use the pool. I always seemed to miss it due to the break needed after spa treatments. It's too hot to sunbathe during the day, and with many kids and foreigners around, you can't really swim anyway. It's good if you're looking to sunbathe. The gym's jacuzzi, dry sauna, and steam room were not crowded and quite good. Breakfast easily gets 4 out of 5 stars. The selection is abundant, and the quality of ingredients is good, but there's nothing particularly unique about it. It's pretty much the same selection you'd find in other hotels, with no à la carte options. The hotel is very close to ICONSIAM. You can walk or take the hotel's complimentary boat. It opens at 10 AM, which perfectly solves your lunch and dinner plans every day – very convenient.

Opted for this old-money style hotel. The upgrade was just so-so, and they didn't even include breakfast. What a shame.

Excellent, truly a home away from home. It feels a bit far from the BTS or MRT (though getting a taxi is very convenient; it's easier to hail one from the hotel than from Iconsiam, as there's no traffic congestion). Also, on the hour or half-hour, you can head to the G floor to catch the shuttle boat to Iconsiam or Sathorn Pier on the opposite bank.

Fantastic location, but service can be a hit or miss. The views are unbeatable. The decor is quite old, but very well-maintained. Not enough charging outlets, and the mini-bar is not complimentary even on the first day. Breakfast is just okay, nothing special. If you don't mind an older hotel, it offers incredible value for money.

This was the ultimate retreat. I really enjoyed the pool and gym activities and had a relaxing two-day, one-night stay at the hotel. The pain au chocolat for breakfast was incredibly delicious. The hummus and fresh vegetables were also a highlight. The sauna in the spa was very clean and had a pleasant, minty fragrance, which was very comforting. The cold plunge pool was wonderfully refreshing. I definitely want to stay here again. Furthermore, all the staff were truly excellent, making my stay comfortable from check-in to check-out. I especially want to thank Patcha for helping me with my luggage and chatting with me while I was waiting for my car.
