The Peninsula Bangkok

An established hotel on the Chao Phraya River, facing the Mandarin Oriental across the bank. Ten years ago, I passed by on a boat, and ten years later, my dream came true – I checked in! Facilities: Strong Peninsula vibe. The front desk was great, helping us get an upgrade to a terrace room, which was so comfortable with an outdoor area, especially in Bangkok. Ambiance: Full of old-money charm, from the room to the lobby bar with live band, and then a wonderful martini at the bar... Service: Excellent service, quick response times. The turndown service was lovely, and even the ride to the MO across the river made us want to come back again.

Upon checking in, I noticed several hairs in the bathtub, indicating poor room cleaning. The fruit plate was emptied into the sink, but residue was left behind. Overall, the hotel feels a bit dated, and the room's space utilization isn't great, though the public areas are quite impressive.

The service is attentive, warm, and professional. The facilities are excellent, and the location is convenient for exploring. The night view is spectacular; looking down at the bustling lights along both banks of the Chao Phraya River and hearing the lively sounds from the passing boats, you truly feel immersed in the vibrant nightlife of Bangkok.

Came to stay at the Peninsula again! The Peninsula's secluded, resort-like feel is truly exceptional. Outside the hotel, it's the usual hustle and bustle of traffic in Thailand, but the moment you step inside, it's like automatically switching into relaxed vacation mode. In Bangkok, a city overflowing with luxury hotels, the Peninsula's decor might no longer be considered opulent or fashionable, and perhaps even a bit dated. However, the hotel is still very attentive to its operation, maintenance, and the warmth of its service. It gives you that familiar, warm, and slow-paced comfort of being 'at home.' Whether it was the 'welcome back' at check-in, the special birthday decorations and cake in the room, or the smiling faces of every staff member, these all become cherished memories that form the unique atmosphere and style exclusive to this hotel. I think I'll definitely be back the next time I visit Bangkok.

The Peninsula Bangkok has always been my wife's and my favorite, and we visit every three months or so for a relaxing getaway. This time, we specifically planned a trip just before the May Day holiday. My elderly mother flew from home, and my son flew in from Tokyo, so our whole family could happily and comfortably reunite at the Peninsula.

The service here, as always, is top-notch. Check-in was smooth, and the front desk staff were all incredibly warm and helpful. The terrace room is located in a recessed area in the middle of the building, so the views on either side are a bit obstructed, but the overall scenery is still breathtaking, especially facing the sunrise. Suggestions: To keep up with the times, the room service menu could use an updated English translation, rather than feeling stuck in a bygone era. Since visa-free travel is now available, it would be beneficial to be more prepared for international guests. Also, the toiletries in the bathroom shouldn't just be toothbrushes; it doesn't align with the hotel's brand image.

I stayed at the Peninsula again after many years, and it's still as impressive as ever. Because my return flight was late, I paid for a room upgrade and the hotel extended my check-out time to 8 PM, which allowed us to leisurely enjoy our last day. Although the hotel facilities are older, they are very well-maintained. The twice-daily housekeeping kept the room impeccably clean. The only minor inconvenience was the lack of power outlets by the bedside. The room faced the river with a beautiful view, and the hotel's free shuttle boat was a highlight, making it very convenient to get to ICONSIAM and the BTS Skytrain station. Breakfast was up to the usual five-star hotel standard. During my stay, the occupancy rate seemed high, as only outdoor seating was available, which was a bit warm.

The Peninsula Bangkok continues to uphold its high standards. Time hasn't brought decline or wear and tear; instead, the hotel's excellent maintenance and prime location beautifully exemplify the Peninsula culture for every guest. Every staff member is incredibly friendly. Each person I interacted with greeted me with a smile. The service industry inherently involves countless challenges and dedication, and I'm grateful to all the hard-working staff at The Peninsula.
