Where do I start!! This hotel is 100% not a 5 star!
On arrival I was very disappointed with the overall appearance of the hotel. Once checked into our rooms we were very tired and noticed the sheets on the bed were stained with blood. The receptionist sent someone to change them straight away. There was also lots of mosquitoes in our room which we got badly bitten from during the night. Our first night there we killed around 20 just so we could try and sleep peacefully and still ended up getting eaten alive. We booked a pool access room for 4 nights and all I can say is thank god I wasn’t staying any longer. The cleanliness of the rooms was not good. The shower had thick mould around the screen and tiles. The pool had lots of missing tiles, you could easily cut yourself getting in and out. Where the tiles were missing there was rust underneath. The following day i asked to change rooms, the room I accepted was a bit better. However, the pool area was shaded and water was cold because of this. Therefore, it defeated the point of me paying extra for pool access as we wasn’t able to sit out there. I spoke with other guests that also had changed rooms due to the cleanliness.
The main pool area is also very run down. Only around 20 Sun loungers and a lot are broken.
On New Year’s Eve during the daytime guest were told they could not sit around the pool and the hotel was holding a foam pool party. Which the hotel wanted guests to pay an extra 4000bht per person (around £94). I have never been to a hotel were guests are told they can not use the facilities they have already paid for or had to pay extra if holding a foam party in the main pool area.
The breakfast in this hotel also does not cater for all. Thailand is not a Muslim country therefore I would not expect the hotel to have a halal only menu. Therefore, no bacon at breakfast. Instead rice, noodles, curry, chicken sausage, salad. Some fruit, bread and pancakes. They do serve fresh omelettes and eggs. I ordered a Hawaiian pizza for lunch and got pineapple and chicken sausage on top which was awful.
Something to also consider when booking this hotel is that it is on top of a hill. I was aware of this when I booked. However, I didn’t realise the walk down and up from the main shops would be as steep and isolated. The rooms are also up even higher and therefore you have to wait for the hotel transport to take you too and from your room if you are not able to climb the steep hills in the heat. There is also a shuttle bus that takes you too and from the beach and shopping centre. We took this to the beach one day and the driver was supposed to pick us back up at 17:50. However, he forgot and went home. We didn’t end up being picked up up till 18:30 in the end. When I arrived back at the hotel I spoke to the receptionist about it however she said it was the drivers at the beach which they don’t have control of but she will report it.
Overall I would not recommend this hotel or be returning.
