Mayflower Inn & Spa, Auberge Collection

We had a wonderful time at the Mayflower Inn & look forward to returning. The food, drink, decor, ambiance, experience classes & most notably the service from the staff was incredible. Can’t remember when we had better service recently.. everyone was awesome! Standouts from the staff were Emily, Michelle, Chef Luke, Danilo, Eric, Jillian & Joe. The property is beautiful and is a wonderful place to have a relaxing vacation. We had an issue at the Spa but the staff took care of it promptly. Important to make sure a 60 minute massage is not 48 minutes instead. I believe the guest should decide the tip based on service and not have a mandatory 22% applied. No incentive to the spa staff to give a quality, properly timed massage. Other than that, it was a perfect visit!

We just returned from another wonderful stay at the Mayflower, and once again, it exceeded our expectations. We make it a point to visit every year for a night or two, and it has become one of our favorite traditions. One of the things we love most is that our pup, Mickey, is welcome to join us. The property is beautiful, relaxing, and perfect for a dog-friendly getaway. The spa is absolutely amazing and always leaves us feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. The service is exceptional. The waitstaff is attentive, friendly, and somehow always remembers us from previous visits, which makes each stay feel extra special. The food is consistently delicious, and the cocktails are fantastic. For us, the Mayflower is the perfect staycation—a peaceful escape that feels worlds away while still being close to home. We can't wait to return again next year for our stay, if not sooner. We will definitely be back at the restaurant even sooner.

An Exceptional Local Sanctuary As locals with deep family roots in the area, we have a profound appreciation for New England hospitality, and the Mayflower Inn and Spa absolutely blew us away. The team incorporated beautiful, intentional local touches that made the experience feel incredibly personal and grounded. The service here is flawless—the staff consistently went over and above to accommodate our detailed needs with grace and warmth. There is a palpable "if you need it, it’s already there" philosophy woven into the entire stay. The expansive, ancient grounds provide a spectacular backdrop for a restorative getaway, and the wellness center is a true sanctuary. Combined with delicious dining, it was a perfect experience. We are incredibly fortunate to have a world-class retreat like this right in our backyard.

Disappointing changes to the spa policy. Family members and I would go to the Mayflower for massages and spa treatments over time (its been a while since we stayed over night) and were able to also use the indoor pool, hot tub and steam room while we were there. Not now! I just called to book three massages. You cannot use those amenities unless you pay an extra $700 on top of your massage cost. So what was included for free before is now quite costly. In addition you can only spend 30 minutes relaxing in the relaxation room after your treatment when before there was no limit. Wow, disappointing. Were these changes to boost spa revenue? You can do better Auberge! (I am writing this from my past experiences and my experience in calling to book now)

Keep driving and go to Hudson Valley or Twin Farms I’m Vermont. The Mayflower Inn is past her prime. I left three messages with the concierge prior to arrival-no one called back. I got a facial while I was there-arguably the worst I’ve ever had. (I’ve had a lot.) I actually had to ask the esthetician to stop pinching my ears-you read that right- because she was hurting me. My entre at dinner was not edible. I ordered the mussels…I suggest you don’t. We were so unimpressed after dinner that we packed our bags and left. I didn’t even bother to tell them why. At that point I was ok eating the cost & driving home to my own bed. I wasn’t sticking around for anymore high priced mediocrity. It does have pretty grounds. That’s something nice I can say.

This is a beautiful facility. The food was emasculate. The staff was great EXCEPT at the spa. I had a terrible experience there. The night before, I booked a couples' massage for my partner and I. We asked for two women and both of us requested deep tissue massages. The next day when we arrived, we were greeted with one man and one woman as our massage therapists. This was a problem but we shrugged it off and decided to go with these people. The man who gave me my massage was not good. He did not give a deep tissue massage and quite frankly, it was too soft. It was the worst massage I have ever experienced. I will not be booking the Mayflower again.
