It was our first time at Weston Hall having the afternoon tea but it won't be our last as it was delicious. We loved all the food especially the sandwiches and the scones with clotted cream and jam were exceptional. Amazing friendly staff and great service throughout our afternoon tea. I would highly recommend.

Attended today, 3rd for a family lunch. Very impressed with the venue, menu and certainly the four members of staff who each provided a very friendly, professional and effective service. Thank you.

Came for Sunday lunch today...5 of us (and a baby bump) for my mums 80th birthday! From the moment we walked through the door mum was treated like a queen! Nothing was too much trouble! Food was absolutely amazing and stunningly presented! The room was beautiful and so very relaxed! Now to mention the staff didn't catch names but they were all outstanding and so very friendly! Made mum cry when they sang happy birthday! Honestly cannot thank you all enough for a beautiful day.xxx

Gone downhill!! We’ve been to Weston hall for the past couple of mothers day’s and had a lovely experience every time. So naturally I booked for this Mother’s Day as soon as I could to avoid disappointment. Unfortunately this year we were so disappointed. They had changed the starter menu so we couldn’t have the normal prawn cocktail starter we have. It was a seafood starter so we opted for the chicken liver parfait. It was absolutely revolting, the texture and taste was awful. Sent back via the waitress. Main course was the roast beef which was full of fat. In previous years there were sides on the table to help yourself to, this year seems completely scaled back and tasteless. We were totally disappointed that the menu had changed for the worse and if I had known this I would have booked elsewhere for our Mother’s Day meal.

Avoid if you are disabled because theres little access if you have a disability. We stayed overnight and the bedrooms are on the top floor, there is no lift, just 54 stairs and the climb is steep. On the plus side its a lovely place, built in 1510 and a lot of the historical features can be seen. The staff are all excellent, good teamwork and they are very focused on customer service. Great place for a wedding. As a listed building there are limitations such as providing a lift but a big improvement would be to build some overnight accomodation lodges in the ground for anybody who disabled.

Having worked in hospitality for many years, including managing bars and restaurants with one operating at a 2 AA Rosette standard, I appreciate the challenges the industry faces. I visited on 11th July with my mum to celebrate her birthday. We've dined here on several previous occasions and have always enjoyed the food, which makes this visit even more disappointing. Unfortunately, all of the draught beer and cider was unavailable due to the hot weather. While this is understandable, we ordered a Bacardi and Coke and found the Coke to be completely flat. I then ordered a bottle of beer and a half lemonade to make a shandy, only to find the lemonade was also flat. It's fairly common knowledge that if cellar cooling is struggling in extreme temperatures, post-mix soft drinks can often be affected too, so this should have been checked before service. The menu also felt very limited and lacked the quality and creativity I remembered, with dishes feeling more like standard pub food than those worthy of such a beautiful venue. I chose the chicken skewers, which consisted of just three small pieces of chicken, accompanied by dry mushrooms and what can only be described as a tired, unappealing salad. My mum ordered the mango curry with added chicken. While pleasant enough, it was very bland and could have benefited from a little chilli or seasoning to give it some flavour. Service was also disappointing. The lady who seated us said she would bring over a jug of water, but it never arrived, and we didn't see her again for the remainder of our visit. To add to the atmosphere, 1930s-style music was playing throughout the meal, which felt completely out of place for the setting. With such an incredible building and beautiful surroundings, it's a shame to see the overall standard slip so much compared with our previous visits. I genuinely wanted this visit to be as enjoyable as those we've had before, especially as it was a birthday celebration. Sadly, it fell well below expectations. I sincerely hope standards improve because this venue has so much potential, but based on this experience, I don't think we'll be returning until they do.

We visited as part of a birthday celebration. We were lucky enough that the sun was shining as the terrace outside is really lovely to sit on. The outside bar is a great touch too. The grounds and building were stunning. Plenty of parking. All of the staff were really lovely and helpful. The lunch time set menu was very well priced but I opted for a roast meat cob and chips. Others in our group had booked the afternoon tea. This also looked lovely although there were a few items missing (scratchings, sausage rolls) and no one came to ask if they wanted a top up of tea or coffee. I’ve marked it down for a couple of reasons. The smell when you walk in is extremely off putting, I’m not sure if they smoke their own food but the place stank of smoked fish. Secondly, while it’s meant to be cosy, the seats around the bar area for the afternoon tea just aren’t very comfortable. All in all it was a nice afternoon. As it was a distance to drive I ask myself was it good enough to return? No, I don’t think it was.

Visited on Thursday 28th May 2026 and was disappointed, the food was average at best with the Spiced Burger being dry and the 10 chips quite frankly an embarrassment considering this must have been the cheapest part of the meal and all of this for £21.00 what a bargain. The service was excellent, friendly and attentive - other than no one asked me how the food was. Their is no disputing that the location and building with the outside seating area is beautiful, but i wont be visiting for food anytime soon which is a real shame as i used to think it was always one of the top 5 places to eat in Stafford.
