Mercure Shanghai Hongqiao SOHO

I visited Shanghai during the rainy season and chose to stay at the Mercure hotel for the first time, and everything went smoothly. Check-in was a breeze, and the room was clean, comfortable, and free from stuffiness, dampness, or any odd smells. If I needed laundry done, I'd just place my clothes in the laundry bag, hang it outside the door, make a call, and a staff member would come collect it. Within an hour or so, my clean, warm, and dry clothes would be returned – super convenient! I wish I had known, I would have packed fewer clothes. Food deliveries were brought up by a robot, so I didn't have to go to the lobby to pick them up. The room also came with four complimentary bottles of water, tea bags, and drip coffee. But I especially want to rave about the breakfast buffet (see picture below). I'd come back again just for the food; I seriously regret not having a bigger stomach, haha! Plus, all the staff were polite and professional. My stay was excellent, I honestly can't find a single fault.

I just booked the Mercure Shanghai Hongqiao Airport through Ctrip, almost like a blind box pick from countless hotels. The hotel is conveniently located right across from the subway station. Typically, check-in is at 2 PM, but my family and I arrived around 10 AM, so we stored our luggage and went to browse the mall next door. When it was time, we got our room cards. The room looked good, and everything was commendable. The breakfast buffet was fresh, hygienic, and offered a wide variety. My mother said she'd definitely come back again.

The location is fantastic, super close to the subway! So even though it's a bit further out, it doesn't matter since a few subway stops are no big deal. The environment is much better than in the city center. It's also super close to Huiju shopping mall, making it convenient for shopping, dining, and coffee. The room was very clean, and all the staff were enthusiastic.

I've stayed here many times, and it's consistently excellent. It's clean and tidy, and the location is exceptionally good. The value for money is great. Whether I'm in Shanghai for business or leisure, Mercure by Trip.com is always my top choice. See you next time!

The front desk staff, especially the gentleman with glasses, was incredibly attentive. The cold drinks in the lobby were a thoughtful touch, providing instant relief and comfort after returning to the hotel. Our room was very comfortable, clean, and quiet. The mini-bar items were complimentary, and we could request more anytime, which was a huge hit with the kids who love their drinks! Breakfast offered a wide variety of standard options. The self-service laundry room with dryers was super convenient! Plus, the hotel is very close to the subway and a large shopping mall nearby.

Staying at BW was incredibly convenient. It's just one subway stop to the high-speed rail station and three stops to the National Exhibition and Convention Center. The hotel facilities are very new, and the room was excellent. The front desk staff even gave me a complimentary upgrade, and their service was really enthusiastic. I ended up staying for four days and three nights due to a typhoon, and the breakfast was delicious too. Overall, I was very satisfied.

The room had mosquitoes, and my child got so many bites that I had to buy medicine in the middle of the night. The hotel kept making excuses and passing the buck. I won't go into other details, but I couldn't stand it when they said there's no proof the mosquito bites happened at the hotel. The room was dim, the shower stall was tiny, and the window was pathetically small, despite it being a HUAZHU hotel. The breakfast, however, was good. On July 9th, at 7:50 AM, the woman at the front desk had a perpetual scowl, as if she hadn't woken up yet or I owed her a fortune. All in all, this hotel brought a very unpleasant experience to my Shanghai trip.
