The hotel has a stunning lobby and reception area, though insufficient seats for guests waiting for their ride or taxi. The hotel Concierge was helpful but i cannot understand why the hotel does not put up a signage to hail taxis in. Personnel at the check-in reception could be more pleasant and since payment has to be Cash/paid on check-in (no prepay option), an invoice/receipt should be issued upon payment. I never got my receipt. The room has a vintage touch with mahogany panels and cupboards, and the view we had was the huge square, which is part of Nanjing Pedestrian Street, where various events can be held there. I had hoped for a room looking east so that i could see the magnificent skyscrapers of Shanghai. Hopefully my next stay there..... I must mention the michelin dinner offer to house guests. Really worth tasting and for a bargain too.

We had a wonderful stay here! All the staff were incredibly nice and took great care of us, even though we don’t speak Chinese. The room was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options to enjoy. Transportation was also very convenient — getting to Wanxiangu and the train station was no problem at all, and the staff kindly helped arrange everything for us. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!
