Shangri-La Hotel Chengdu

I was a bit nervous before my stay at the Shangri-La Chengdu. After booking, I didn't receive any confirmation from the hotel. Sure enough, when I arrived to check in, they said they couldn't find my name. Just as I was at my wit's end, Manager Deng at the front desk kindly helped me check the Ctrip confirmation number and tracked down my reservation (for some reason, my name had been entered incorrectly). She even upgraded my room. The view outside the window was gorgeous, with an unobstructed view of the Anshun Bridge that was truly refreshing and delightful. The hotel has an elegant environment and convenient transportation. With the Jiuyanqiao bars and Lan Kwai Fong cultural and creative district nearby, the nightlife is vibrant and colorful—the absolute best choice for experiencing Chengdu's nightlife.

Rivers, covered bridges, bars, bustling crowds, Xue Tao, Wangjiang Pavilion, and Wangjiang Park—these can be said to represent some of the most iconic sights of Chengdu's thousand-year-old historic city. The Shangri-La has established the ultimate footnote in this very location. Stepping in and out of the hotel, you can immediately decode all of this. Every visitor to Chengdu should stay at this hotel at least once.

The story of Shangri-La, a happy accident—the lost horizon. No wonder every Shangri-La looks the same; turns out they're all part of the family. The variety of breakfast options remains their signature. Delicious 😋

The hotel has a super convenient location, and the buffet restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes! The breakfast is also very rich! The view outside the window is just breathtaking! I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Chengdu!

When checking into the Executive Suite, the hanging rail in the outer wardrobe was dirty, so I had to wipe it clean myself before using it. The breakfast was chaotic with a long wait for a table. They stop replenishing at 10:00 AM and make you leave by 10:15 AM for disinfection. During the Executive Lounge Happy Hour, I actually ran into influencers taking photos, walking around and setting up lighting, which severely ruined the dining experience.

The room matched the photos, and the service was very enthusiastic. The breakfast had a great variety with takeout coffee available. Overall, it's a good stay, though the room decor and facilities are a bit traditional. They also included complimentary tickets to the Well Museum, which makes for a nice, off-the-beaten-path experience.

The location is fantastic, right downstairs from the Anshun Bridge, making it very convenient for exploring and dining. The view from the window is beautiful, and I loved it. The hotel was also very prompt in resolving issues, and I was very satisfied with the outcome. Truly lives up to its five-star rating.

We had a wonderful stay! The triple room easily accommodated four of us. The hotel is in a great location with views of the Anshun Bridge right from the room. It's close to Taikoo Li, yet tucked away from the noisy crowds. We didn't use public transport during our short stay, but getting around by shared bikes or taxis was very convenient. William the concierge enthusiastically helped us with our travel arrangements, and Seven at the front desk was both friendly and efficient. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with every aspect of the hotel.
