Yangzhou State Guesthouse

The environment is excellent; the hotel itself is an attraction. I highly recommend spending more time exploring the hotel grounds. We stayed in the newest Building 18, and the service was quite satisfactory. The electric shuttle service within the resort is very convenient. Especially, the hotel's restaurants are incredibly delicious. We visited during the off-season, so there was generally no need to queue. I'll definitely choose to stay here longer next time I have the chance.

Yangzhou, born from the Grand Canal, embodies the gentle charm of the Jiangnan region with a touch of northern grandeur. It's the most lifestyle-savvy city in the Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai area, and a UNESCO-recognized City of Gastronomy. Yangzhou never disappoints when it comes to the essence of Jiangnan. Yangzhou Yingbin Guesthouse is right next to Slender West Lake, and the hotel itself is like a grand garden. The ancient poetic line, 'Down to Yangzhou in March when flowers are like mist,' passed down for millennia, perfectly captures Yangzhou's romance. If you want to immerse yourself in the true essence of Yangzhou, Yangzhou Yingbin Guesthouse is the ideal place to stay... Yangzhou Yingbin Guesthouse boasts convenient transportation, excellent service, and complete facilities.

This national guesthouse is right next to Slender West Lake. I booked two king rooms, and the day before check-in, they called to ask if I had any requests. I asked if an upgrade was possible. Even with rooms being tight during the National Day holiday, they still managed to upgrade one of my rooms to a family room. After checking in, each room received local Yangzhou snacks and fruits, and they even delivered yogurt before bed – very thoughtful! The hotel itself is a large garden, and each building has its own independent check-in. Ground parking in front of the buildings is convenient. The hotel also organizes a variety of activities for guests every day and even provides hot spring tickets, which was a great experience. If I ever get the chance to visit Yangzhou again, I'll definitely choose this place.

Extremely satisfied with everything in Building 2. The room was clean and quiet, and the front desk service was attentive and detailed. The common areas were very spacious with lots of activities. The ecological environment and biodiversity protection were well-maintained. The scenery encountered while simply strolling around was also excellent!

The room was clean and the facilities were new and well-designed, perfect for a multi-generational family. It had two bathrooms and two large beds separated by a sliding door, though a sticker on it would have been a nice touch. There was also a separate table, refrigerator, induction cooktop, and microwave.

I chose to stay in Building 18. The room facilities are very new, and the service attitude is excellent. There are a few peacocks on the basement level, which my child loved. The breakfast was very rich, featuring Yangzhou specialties like Wudingbao and Yangchun noodles. The facilities at the Guesthouse are shared, so you can do travel photography, swim, and watch intangible cultural heritage performances. In the morning, you can walk to Slender West Lake and Qu Garden Teahouse, which is very convenient. Honestly, I feel like the Guesthouse itself is a tourist attraction.

The environment is quite nice, with beautiful landscaped gardens. Our butler, Lyn, was especially attentive. You can enter Slender West Lake directly from the hotel's quick access, and you'll arrive right at Xuyuan Garden. The shuttle bus runs 24 hours, which is very convenient. The room key cards can be customized, and the turndown service was good, as was the breakfast. The only minor drawback is that the elder's calligraphy is no longer open to the public! But I really wanted to see it! Wuwu.

A truly awful experience. To sum it up: a complete lack of service awareness and empathy. I strongly advise against staying here! We checked in in the afternoon, and everything we ate until bedtime that evening came from the hotel – including the complimentary snacks we received upon arrival, dinner at the mountain restaurant, and the yogurt provided by the hotel. We ate the yogurt around 9 PM. Shortly after 10 PM, our child, who had just fallen asleep, suddenly vomited. My partner and I both felt bloated and nauseous. Since our child pretty much threw up the entire yogurt he had consumed, I wanted to check the packaging of the remaining yogurt. That's when I discovered a note on the tray that read, "Yogurt has been placed in the refrigerator." However, the yogurt had never been refrigerated at all, and no one had bothered to tell us. It had been sitting at room temperature for over three hours. What was absolutely, utterly unacceptable was the hotel's subsequent communication: When we discussed compensation with the hotel, they suddenly started claiming that our child might have already had a fever and was ill upon check-in. Hearing this, I was absolutely furious. They were trying to shirk responsibility by fabricating an illness for a two-and-a-half-year-old child! After I called them out on it directly, the hotel changed their story, saying that the cleaning staff who came to change the sheets "heard us say we needed to take the child's temperature." What a masterful attempt to shift blame! Out of sheer indignation and to avoid getting caught in a pointless cycle of self-justification, we gave up on further communication. We did not accept any of their proposed compensation, and I paid the full room rate. Because no one would accept such so-called "compensation" that comes with malicious speculation about motives and a complete lack of sincerity! I hope everyone who reads my review understands their fundamental lack of care and respect for customers, and how they only care about clearing their own name and shifting blame when issues arise, even resorting to hearsay and unfounded rumors to turn the tables on us!

This time, when I visited Yangzhou, I didn't hesitate to choose the old-established state guesthouse – Yangzhou Yingbin Hotel. It turned out to be absolutely the right decision! Not only is the environment as beautiful as a garden, but the service also made me feel incredibly welcome and comfortable. I particularly want to praise the details during check-in. A young man at the front desk assisted me; his attitude was exceptionally warm and thoughtful. He smiled throughout, patiently informed me of all the details like breakfast times, pool location, and shuttle service within the grounds. Because of my personal preference, I specifically requested a non-smoking room and not the last room down the corridor. Without a word, he immediately checked the system and quickly helped me switch to a room that perfectly met my requirements. I'm truly grateful for his flexible handling! After completing the formalities, he even proactively stepped out from behind the counter to guide me to the elevator, pointing out the direction. This kind of proactive service awareness made me feel so warm inside. Check-out was equally delightful, where I met two staff members, Mei Jie and Shi Jia. They processed everything quickly, with friendly smiles, and even presented me with Yangzhou-特色 souvenirs, allowing me to take a piece of Yangzhou's warmth home. A small gift, but immense warmth. From the moment I entered until I left, every aspect of this stay at Yingbin Hotel showcased their professionalism and warmth. The facilities have a rich history, but the service is even more touching. Next time I come to Yangzhou, this will still be my top choice! I highly recommend it to everyone!
