Royal Malewane

I would like to share my outstanding experience having a two nights stay at Waterside lodge. This is not just a luxury safari lodge, but the place where each single staff treating you like a valued part of family. The level of hospitality here is just amazing. Management of the lodge Jon and David has build up a strong team where everyone is on a proper position, I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to the both gentlemen for their hard work and input. Rooms are very spacious and nicely decorated with a touch of African culture, each suite has own heated pool. There is a small gym at the premises with yoga place and everything to keep you fit and healthy during the stay. Speaking of healthy, the lodge provides you with full meal board treating the guests with a beautiful and delicious food during the whole day. I’d rate the food as a top class restaurant, so you may not only enjoy the nature, but treat you with fine dining. Game drives require an extra word. I was lucky to have Conrad as a ranger who not just an experienced pathfinder, but can tell you a very interesting story about each animal or plant you’ll find on your way. Being a quite experienced safari visitor with over a few dozens of a game drives I have to admit that Conrad is the way best. He also a camera man, so the pictures I’m attaching creatures by this gentleman. Definitely the place you’ll dream to return and maybe this lodge will become your favorite annual nature retreat. To be more specific this was Masiya’s Camp. It was spectacular! My tent was, air conditioned, gorgeous and enormous. Everything was perfection. The grounds, decor, amenities, food, wine, and the service was top notch. I cannot say enough good things about the accommodations & staff at Royal Malewane Masiya’s Camp. I highly recommend and thought it was worth every penny. The tracker and guide were especially attentive, knowledgeable, and even took photos with a much better camera than mine and emailed me the photos. My favorite camp by far!

We took Africa House for our family of eleven and whilst this was our 5th visit over 15 years, the standard of comfort, service, food, ambience and safari experience was exceptional and 5 nights were nowhere near enough. Our rangers, Ryan and Conrad were at another level to the other 20 plus safari's we have experienced. The Africa House team was incredible and ensured everything was a “pleasure” to deliver and the level of 6 star consistency never wavered. Of course, we will return at some stage and experience one of the few properties that really delivers World Class Customer Care. Any room to improve…..only some free weights in the fitness room ❤️.

Awesome views, great hospitality, beautiful and friendly staff towards guests. Clean and neat rooms, clean towels and showers. Very organized place. Recommended for relaxation and outings, safe environment. Very overwhelming place to be at.

We have been traveling to the Royal Malewane since 2003 and it is always our favorite safari lodge in South Africa! This year it was just as special as our first visit in 2003. The staff is always professional, the rangers are the best in the world, the food is delicious and special, and the accommodations luxurious. Our guide, Ryan Jack is very special. He’s been with the Royal Malewane team for many years and still approaches every game drive as if it was our first game drive. If you want a world class safari, you must put the Royal Malewane on your bucket list!

This was one the BEST traveling experiences I have ever had. The lodge sits in Kruger National Park with wild animals just outside your deck. An elephant drank out of my deck pool while I was reading! Constant wildlife outside my room. It was surreal staring at it all for hours at a time. The food was exceptional. The staff SUPER accommodating; friendly, assertive. My guide/naturalist Juan is the smartest man I’ve ever met. So incredibly knowledgeable about ALL of nature. These safaris make you feel so small I saw all of the big 5. This is the place to stay!
