Andaz Macau

For this trip to Macau, I booked another Hyatt-affiliated hotel, the Andaz Macau. This Andaz offers great value for money, with a standard room costing just over 800 patacas a night. The hotel is located in Galaxy. From the Border Gate, you can take the Galaxy shuttle bus to the Diamond Lobby, then walk through to the JW Marriott, and from the JW Marriott lobby, you'll reach the Andaz. This Andaz opened within the last two years. Although the design style of the public areas isn't really my taste, all the in-room facilities are very new, and it's quiet at night, which is great for sleeping. My only complaint about the room was that the toilet flush wasn't very strong; sometimes I had to press it twice. The colorful Andaz slippers are also very nice, and you can take them home with you after your stay. For the turndown service, they even provided eye cream, and at check-out, I received a luggage tag – the service is truly thoughtful. My main purpose for visiting Macau this time was to explore the old town. The Andaz is very close to the Light Rail, making it convenient to take the Light Rail and then transfer to a bus to get to the old town. I didn't even need to take a taxi. The Galaxy hotels also offer a wide selection of dining options, so personally, I find staying here quite convenient. Since I only stayed one night in Macau, I didn't have time to try the hotel's dining options. Next time I have the chance, I'll definitely come back to try their Portuguese cuisine and the bar, which I hear are both excellent.

This hotel is an excellent choice for families with children. It's very close to Galaxy Macau and the Light Rail Transit, making it super convenient for getting around. The staff are really enthusiastic, and they even offer turn-down service. After a two-day stay, my impression of the hotel, the Galaxy Group, and Macau as a whole is incredibly positive. I'll definitely choose Andaz again next time I'm in Macau. It's a shame that perhaps because it was Chinese New Year, the hotel didn't provide their co-branded slippers this time ☺ (though the cotton slippers were very comfortable, so I didn't bother asking for the branded ones). The gym is open 24/7, and the mini-bar drinks and snacks are refilled endlessly 😋. On this trip, I also became a fan of Byredo's Blanche toiletries from the hotel (it used to be on my perfume blacklist!). MOP 300 F&B credit: Didn't really use it, no big deal. Ying Kee Bakery souvenirs: Took them home! 🤣 Facilities: The facilities and decor are all excellent. Hygiene: Everything is very clean. There's turn-down service, and during housekeeping hours, they thoughtfully organize your scattered items on the table, placing them on a small mat with the hotel logo underneath, so you can easily find everything when you return to your room. Service: The greeter will escort you directly to the front desk for check-in. Standard check-in is after 3 PM, but if you arrive early, it's fine; you can store your luggage at the front desk. Once your room is ready, the hotel will deliver your luggage directly to your room, so it doesn't interrupt your shopping. ☺ In summary: the service is genuinely excellent. Environment: Just look at the pictures!

The hotel environment and cleanliness are excellent. The front desk staff, Ophelia and Elena, provided fantastic service! Ella and Coco from housekeeping were also incredibly thoughtful and attentive. 🩷

I arrived a little after noon, and there were quite a few people checking in, so I had to wait in line for a bit. When I checked in, they told me they’d noted that I had elderly people and children and would put us on the same floor. However, when I picked up the room keys at 5 PM, one room was on the 21st floor of the West Building, and the other was on the 16th floor of the North Building. After I pointed it out, they immediately moved us to the same floor in the same building, but I had to wait almost another hour to get the room keys, which delayed the elderly from resting. It's quite strange why they would put an 80-year-old and an 11-year-old from the same family, checking in together, in different buildings, especially after they explicitly told me during check-in that they had noted we wanted to be on the same floor. Aside from that, the hotel environment and other services were excellent. The room cleaning was incredibly thorough – even someone with OCD would approve. They even tidied up my phone cables. Thumbs up to the 'snail girl' (housekeeping staff)!

The room isn't very spacious, and the shower design is a bit problematic – water easily leaks out, so you have to be extra careful or just shower inside the tub. On the plus side, the toiletries provided are quite good, and the transportation is reasonably convenient!
