Shortgrass Resort

An amazing experience. The resort is beautiful and the views are lovely. The bungalows were romantic, cozy and comfortable. The pool was relaxing and the float tube down the river was fun. We even tried fly fishing and loved it. The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful...always ensuring our satisfaction. And the food!!! Simply delicious as were the carefully crafted cocktails. Candace took such good care of our group as did Robb (two "b's") and Alex. We loved our time at Shortgrass Resort.

We spent two nights at Shortgrass Resort this past weekend, and I just wanted to take a minute to say what a wonderful experience it was. From the moment we arrived, everyone on the staff was incredibly welcoming and kind. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, the accommodations were fantastic, and the food was incredible. You can tell there is a lot of thought and care put into every part of the experience. It’s one of those places that you leave genuinely impressed and already thinking about when you can come back. We had such a great weekend and just wanted to help spread the word about a place that deserves the recognition. If you get the opportunity to stay at Shortgrass Resort, I highly recommend it. We’ll definitely be back!

10/10. Heated floors, heated toilet seat (!), quiet sunrise views (without even needing to get out of bed), private elevated deck. Enjoyed a six course dinner at the on-site restaurant, which has a covered patio for enjoying the views with a cocktail before dinner. As a non-drinker, I appreciated the menu of non-alcoholic "temperance drinks." I ordered the Strait-Laced Ruby. It looked beautiful and tasted fantastic. The chef and mixologist are tops. A wonderful stay.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our stay at Shortgrass Resort and dinner at Meander Restaurant was nothing short of magical. From the breathtaking views to the warm, welcoming staff, every moment felt like a dream. You can go tubing down the creek. Touring the property made for such a fun and memorable day. Dinner with the incredibly talented Chef Gullickson was a culinary experience we won’t soon forget—each dish was creative, fresh, and full of flavor. And the drinks? Master mixologist Alex crafted cocktails that were truly out of this world. Every detail was thoughtful and elevated. To top it all off, we ended our date with a private picnic brunch by the creek. Pure perfection. If you haven’t had the chance to experience Shortgrass and Meander yet—go. You will not regret it. ~Dan and Brandy Hartman

This was a romantic get away with my husband. We could not say more on how we loved our stay! The staff, grounds, river, lodging, food, cocktails 🍸 Were all so amazing! we will be coming back.

The experience at Meander, the exclusive restaurant at Shortgrass, is out of this world. The service, food, and ambience were 5-stars all around!

I attended a business training and retreat at Shortgrass and was thoroughly impressed. The view from the lodge and patio is gorgeous, especially with a delicious mixed cocktail in hand (the huckleberry drink was my favorite). It was the perfect setting for getting away and focusing and whenever I needed a break I would wonder the grounds along the creek. I would love to go back when it’s warm enough to swim and enjoy the deck on the creek - swimming hole looked fun. Food was incredible - every meal was a treat. Overall, the attention to detail and quality was there and top notch, from everything from the pillows to the food to the chairs and all the rest. I’m looking forward to going back!

Have you SEEN this place, or tasted this food or this beverage?! Oh, man. SO good. This is an amazing place! Peaceful and serene. The food and libations were a phenomenal experience! The chef accounted for my portion and palette preferences with a gorgeous artistic chef’s tasting menu, while the mixologist helped me pick some stunning mock-tails as I don’t drink alcohol. Candace was an incredible hostess. The bungalows—OMG—king sized bed with mattress warmer, heated floors, fully tiled shower and electronic bidet. It was an absolute treat staying at Shortgrass Resort! The greenhouse they’re building is awesome and I heard they’re adding a pool! I also appreciate that there’s no kids and no pets to disturb the atmosphere happening there—as a mom, I appreciated the break! Thanks everyone at Shortgrass for treating me like royalty.
