Grand Hyatt Beijing at Oriental Plaza

Amy provided excellent follow-up service, and the in-room experience was equally delightful. The Grand Hyatt Grand Deluxe Room we stayed in was exceptionally spacious, measuring around 48-50 square meters, with a well-thought-out layout and distinct functional zones. The room features a modern and elegant design, with a soft blue headboard that creates a serene sleeping atmosphere. The oversized floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with natural light, and some high-floor rooms even offer distant views of the Forbidden City complex, making the night views particularly enchanting.

The hotel's design and materials are from the 1990s, but it still feels very luxurious. The service across all departments was exceptional. This time, I traveled to Beijing with my 80-year-old parents. Given their advanced age—and the fact that my mother has limited mobility and uses a wheelchair—the Executive Suite was ideal. It’s quite spacious, making it easy for the wheelchair to maneuver. We requested a plastic shower chair in advance for my mother, and it was provided as requested. The room is equipped with a washing machine, microwave, refrigerator, and other amenities. When traveling with elderly family members, having these facilities is incredibly convenient; clothes can be washed immediately if they get soiled. The hotel is expansive, and navigating the hallways and elevators with a wheelchair was no problem at all. Breakfast is available at either the 2nd-floor or 17th-floor restaurant. The reception at the 2nd-floor restaurant wasn't very welcoming; without really checking, they simply told us there were no tables available before we were even seated. It was the same story the next day, but when we walked in to check ourselves, there were actually empty tables. While the 2nd-floor restaurant offers a wider variety of food, the service falls short compared to the 17th floor. Seeing the Sous Chef, Jerry Wang, greet us with a big, bright smile and a cheery 'Good Morning 😄' just makes you want to smile right back at them 😆. The room was very clean. The housekeeping staff timed the daily room cleaning to match our outings. Whenever we needed extra supplies, calling guest services resulted in a prompt delivery. As a suggestion for improvement, the entrance/exit leading to the B2 level of Beijing Oriental Plaza could really use a wheelchair ramp, or at least handrails on both sides of the stairs. That entrance leads directly to Wangfujing Street, which is extremely convenient, but unfortunately inaccessible for wheelchair users. Overall, we had a fantastic stay experience 👍🏻

I had high expectations after seeing all the positive reviews about the Regency Club, but the room actually felt very cramped and had a low ceiling. Besides, I originally booked a Deluxe Room, which should have had some views based on the photos, but I was assigned a room that faced right into the building opposite—just like a handshake apartment. I asked for a room change for two days, but nothing happened. It feels like they just try to rip off every single guest they can... The facilities and cleanliness were actually okay, but it feels like only extreme negative reviews will serve as a wake-up call for the hotel. Stop scamming people with such garbage rooms.

Very satisfied with the check-in experience, especially Amy who kept in touch at all times. The hotel service was excellent. The room was clean and the location is exceptionally convenient, with easy access everywhere. Wangfujing and Tiananmen Square are right nearby. I will definitely stay here again next time~
