A fantastic experience at The Upper House. Many thanks to Bonnie for the warm welcome at check-in. The only slight disappointment was that parking is not included, a bit extra cost driving in and out. That said, it is overall a truly wonderful hotel.

The location is fantastic; it's super convenient to grab a meal at Taikoo Hui downstairs and access public transport. The room's amenities feel like an upgraded version of the neighbouring Sukhothai. The avocado toast for breakfast was delicious, and the staff provided excellent service. Bonnie, in particular, was very welcoming and helpful.

Excellent location. The stay was very pleasant, lovely design, and great service. The breakfast was delicious, especially the yogurt, fruit, and juice – all high quality. The breakfast staff were exceptionally helpful; they immediately moved tables for us when they saw our orders wouldn't fit. They were also very attentive. The room had many beautiful details. The amenity kit was nice, and the toiletries, especially the shampoo, were excellent – my hair didn't get frizzy. The only minor issue was the shower. While the design is very aesthetic, exquisite, and vintage, it's quite inconvenient to use. The rainfall showerhead's water pressure was dispersed, and holding the handheld shower for washing hair was tiring. But it genuinely looks good. Everything else was fantastic.

My pre-Christmas stay at The Middle House Shanghai was fantastic! The Christmas decorations in the lobby created such a wonderful atmosphere. A big thank you to Nifty for the warm welcome! The room facilities were complete, and the hotel's location is excellent, right next to a shopping mall, making dining and shopping very convenient! The gym and pool on the basement level are both great; I'll definitely make sure to experience them properly next time I'm back.

The hotel environment and front desk service were excellent. Ms. Nifty, in particular, was incredibly helpful. I was originally planning to stay at Alila, but her service convinced me to extend my stay for three more days. However, on the last morning at breakfast, I ordered a fried egg (sunny-side up) and instead received a burnt, well-done egg – clearly someone else's discarded order – still with pan residue. Ten minutes after I finished, the nearby staff still hadn't cleared it. I was fuming! I also asked for a glass of warm water when I entered, and ten minutes later I was served an espresso that I hadn't even ordered. For this price, to experience such service, I am extremely dissatisfied. I give the restaurant a serious negative review.

I've always wanted to visit The House Collective's Shanghai location. The hotel boasts an excellent location, making it easy to get around, with plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. My stay was fantastic, and I was lucky enough to have Kimber provide attentive service during both check-in and check-out. She remembered my preferences, and communication with her was smooth, efficient, and friendly. As for the room, the view speaks for itself. The linens were very comfortable, the mini-bar was well-stocked, and the shower water temperature was stable, contributing to an overall high level of comfort. The handwritten welcome card was a lovely touch, and the handwriting was beautiful! The showerhead was unique; however, the fixed height was a bit low. But standing with my back to the hot spray to relax was actually quite convenient, haha.
