At Gate Thaphae Hotel

The hotel's main selling point is its great location. It's situated in a slightly quieter area, allowing you to easily unwind away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Breakfast is okay, though you can find better and more varied dining options outside the hotel. The rooms are clean and functional, but some parts are starting to show their age. A pool would have been a nice addition, but unfortunately, it lacks one. Overall, a solid hotel with a great location, but with some room for improvement.

Pros: The bedding and towels smelled wonderful—I absolutely loved that freshly-laundered, clean fragrance! The location is great, right by Tha Phae Gate and directly across from a 7-Eleven. There are plenty of food options within a 10-minute walk. Getting a cab is very convenient, and it’s only about 10 minutes to the airport. The staff were also super friendly and helpful. Cons: The shower temperature kept fluctuating between hot and cold, so I got alternating blasts of scalding and chilly water. Still, it was manageable and not a deal-breaker.

Overall, there weren't any major issues, it was just hard to control the water temperature. The location is also very convenient, close to restaurants and massage shops. There should be markets and performances in the square out front from time to time.

The hotel's surroundings with massage shops and convenience stores, plus its proximity to Tha Pae Gate and the Old City, made sightseeing incredibly convenient. The hotel was well-maintained and the staff were friendly and welcoming, allowing for a very relaxing stay.

Right next to Thapae Gate Old City. There's a McDonald's, restaurants, and a 7-Eleven nearby. The staff even help you with your luggage to your room, which is really nice. Great value for money.

Staying here, many places are within walking distance, whether it's for dining, shopping, visiting old city temples, or getting a massage – it's incredibly convenient with so many options. The breakfast is a bit simple, but sufficient. I'd suggest skipping breakfast and eating out instead. Facilities: The amenities are comprehensive; it has everything except a pool. Hygiene: Given that the hotel has been open for many years, I was worried it might be old and not very clean, but that wasn't the case at all. It's very clean. Service: The service, as expected from the "Land of Smiles," is impeccable.

The location is convenient, very close to Tha Phae Gate. There are convenience stores and many food options nearby. The hotel is located in an alley, so it's very quiet. The only two downsides are that they don't provide ice or a water dispenser, and the shower door in the bathroom is only half-sized, so water leaks onto the floor when you shower.
