Embassy Suites by Hilton Minneapolis North

Property is really nice but a little dated decor wise. But the big rooms are a great thing with so many chains downsizing these days.

Our stay was overall pretty mediocre. The room itself was spacious, which we appreciated, and the lobby was inviting with a welcoming staff. The pool area, however, was a big downside. It felt dingy and not very comfortable, especially as a parent who spends a lot of time in pool areas. There were only a handful of chairs, and it would really benefit from having tables and maybe a few loungers. My biggest concern was that non-guests were clearly using the pool. While we were there, multiple people came to the outside door and knocked to be let in. A guest inside kept letting them in, and they came in with bags and used the bathrooms to change. At one point, there were easily an additional 15–20 kids in the pool area, which made it overcrowded and frustrating. On a positive note, the included breakfast was great- especially the omelette station, which was a nice touch.

My stay was excellent, great bar and staff, happy hour and then wonderful breakfast in the morning. Now the bad part, my car got broken into and tools stolen out of it. So did 15 other cars there. The security cameras and lighting were absent. Never in a million years did I think my plain Nissan Rogue would get broken into at a 4-5 star hotel. But, it happened and I think the hotel needs to be accountable for better security.

Great place! Delicious breakfast.Evening reception was nice. I did have a toilet issue in the night that no one handled until the morning. Also, overnight many cars were vandalized and broken into in the parking lot. What a shame! Area seems nice and this was a pretty classy establishment.

The rooms were big and comfortable but is was a HUGE inconvenience that the room keys only seemed to work for a few hours, then you had to go back to the desk to get it fixed. EVERYTIME I came back to hotel the key didnt work.

Overall good stay, but were playing in a volleyball tournament this weekend. Started at 8am both days, and they DO NOT offer breakfast prior to 7:30 am this really was sad since we had to be at the facility to warm up by 7:30. SO we had to spend more money on finding breakfast somewhere else. Also they said when we got there the AC did not work and projected temp the next day was 78.

The hotel definitely needs to be fixed up. Replace carpet, fix damaged walls, countertops, etc. I have stayed here a few times in the last 2 years and it’s getting worse. The area is pretty quiet. Not much in the way of amenities. Rooms are clean. Staff is never very friendly. It’s an ok place if you need to be in that area otherwise I would go elsewhere.

We were told upon arrival that the hotel was without air conditioning and it wouldn't be fixed until Monday. We should have taken that as our chance to change hotels. The room was comfortable at first but got warmer through the afternoon evening. No fans were available when we checked later in the evening. The happy hour snacks had been attacked by the many kiddos running through the building so we were lucky to dig out a few gold fish and some pretzel mix from the snack containers. The chips and salsa and fruit bowls were left with just crumbs. We then went to the pool and there were so many people in the pool my kids didn't stay long and wanted to try again in the morning. After breakfast we went upstairs to change into swim suits and came back down to find a sign on the door that it was closed until further notice. We went back up stairs and packed up and left. No one was at the counter when we waited to leave so we ended up dropping the keys on the box and leaving. We are willing to pay the little extra for Embassy Suites but this time was a real disappointment.
