Ichirino Kogen Hotel Roan

When we arrived at the hotel to check in, we were shocked to discover that the location had nothing to do with the first picture presented on Trip.com for this hotel. The misleading picture is a location over 1h drive away from the hotel! This is false advertising! The hotel itself is located in a ski station, which means the whole area was empty and dreadful in this early November. The dinner we paid for in advanced was absolutely pitiful, a disgrace for Japanese hospitality - even a poor student dormitory would produce a better meal! A burger patty, two small chicken wings, and a few other dishes were placed on our table for us to microwave ourselves. The (also charged) breakfast was only marginally better…

Extremely helpful staff. The food is amazing and must try traditional Japanese food Robatayaki for dinner. Met a ********* staff which makes our stay even more welcoming ☺️

The mountain hotel is located in beautiful setting with an adjacent forest and a hot spring accessible from the premises. Views are marvellous, house cooking is excellent, serving traditional kaiseki of local food. The staff is very welcoming (including a cute robot) and ready to help. Since the hotel is not easily accessible by public transport, they provide a hotel shuttle car. My stay there was a unique, marvellous experience.

Great hotel with delicious food and friendly staffs, also it is near the skiing resort. Their room is Japanese style and can enjoy hot springs in the hotel!

Very good experience, people are nice, food is very good, and it’s very convenient to get to the ski field, moreover the traffic is very smooth, you can also take a shuttle bus for a choice. Overall the place is great and also a comfortable hotel with nostalgic Japanese vibes.

Wha an awesome place with real Japanese transitional vibe The dinner course is something you really need to try it and the service quality here is just supreme 😘
