Crystal Lamai Hotel

The hotel is close to lamai beach, the room is large and includes a balcony! The receptionist was lovely.

This is probably the best place I’ve stayed in whole Thailand: clean, tidy, quiet (!!!), spacious, and has everything you need. The beach in 10 min walk, and there is also cool gym-island for 20 bath near by. The hotel price is a steal. Highly recommended.

Room is simple but comfortable. Only rain shower available and no shower head. Walking distance to 7-11, pharmacy, a massage shop and restaurant.

Amazing hotel! Good wifi connection for work, clean and spacious room, amazing balcony. Super comfortable bed and great swimming pool. Also loved the local restaurant just around the corner from the hotel!

Location was ok. We’ve rented a scooter to get around. The area was fairly quite (our room was located next to the street but it was quite during the night). Weird thing was that our terrace door was broken (which made it unsafe to stay there, at least for us, and especially because they have put a note on the bed saying that they’re not responsible for thefts etc) however, they have fixed it- nevertheless, I felt like the caretaker had a bit of an attitude as he kept wanting to show us that it wasn’t broken (but it was, as I’ve showed him many times). Cleanliness was also average. Lamps weren’t dusted. Floor wasn’t 100% clean as every time we walked on the floor our feet were black. But other than that most of it looked clean (don’t use the wooden rack outside to hang your clothes as it stains your stuff brown/yellow!!!!!)

The good thing about the hotel is that it is relatively quiet. The pool was nice. The gym was very barebone, however, with almost no equipment inside. It is not located on the beach, you need to walk about 10 minutes, which is not bad. However, there is no place for you to sit on the beach as almost everywhere is occupied by bars or beach front resorts. The main problem I found with the hotel is its surrounding and its location. The hotel is not located at the lively market which is much further away and difficult to access by walking due to heavy traffic (I had to go to the beach every day and walk along the shore). I really struggled to find good food near the hotel and only had an ice cream for lunch. Also the hotel is located quite far from almost all attractions in Lamai aside from the beach, such as Guan-Yu shrine, red temple, Hin Ta Hin Yai, etc., and the taxi is very costly here. Also if you want to go to Chaweng beach it's almost 400 baht by taxi. I would recommend this hotel provided you have your own mode of transportation.
