I stayed at the Benjamin Prescott inn by myself for 2 nights while traveling for business. Chris, the inn keeper and his wife made me feel right at home from the start. Chris tailored the timing of breakfast to my schedule and served wonderful homemade meals, including banana bread with dandelion honey butter, egg casseroles, lots of fresh fruits, pancakes, etc. This is clearly a labor of love for Chris. The inn is charming, comfortable, and quiet. I highly recommend it!

First stay at the Benjamin Prescott Inn and it was as very pleasant and comfortable. Chris/Innkeeper was extremely pleasant and accommodating. Check-in was easy, room was clean and cozy and breakfast was delicious. Blueberry waffles and sausage, eggs/potatos/ham and blueberry pancakes/maple bacon on days 1-3. Great location about 1/2 miles from Jaffrey Center, and old charm area. Highly recommend, and mid October was the perfect time to stay to catch the foliage.

This was my second stay at the Benjamin Prescott Inn and it was as pleasant and comfortable as the first. Chris as the innkeeper is always very pleasant and I now consider him a good friend. The breakfast is always fresh and hot and a great start to any day. I now will make this my annual place to stay when visiting my friends in New Hampshire.

I stayed at the Benjamin Prescott Inn at the peak of New Hampshire’s fall colors which are beautiful. I really enjoyed my stay at this charming historic inn and Chris was an outstanding host. Chris even went the extra mile during my stay and gave up his room since he had a large wedding party for 1 night reserved. I was made aware of this during my booking so it was no surprise but who even does this for a customer? The breakfast meals were something to look forward to since it included everything (fruit, coffee, eggs, pancakes, Texas toast, etc.) which was always hot and delicious. The Colonel Prescott room was very clean and comfortable being fully stocked for your needs. I have slept at several B & Bs and this was the best experience thus far. Since I had an extended stay, I got to know Chris well and he is indeed very personable and a great person. I will be back next year for another enjoyable visit. Fred C.

I had not intended to write a review as I’d hoped the Innkeeper, Chris, would have responded to 2 private messages I sent regarding our stay. While Chris is a very hospitable person, there are serous deficiencies in this lodging that are not honestly represented on the website. The first impression is heavily soiled carpeting on the entry stairs and hallways. We stayed in the Elder Eldad room on the second floor, facing a main road that was noisy. The carpets in this room were also filthy. The bathroom barely fit one person and was in poor repair. The bottom third of the shower curtain was covered in black mold. There was no shower drain cover. The towel bar was pulling away from the wall. Half of the lightbulbs in the bathroom and in the bedroom ceiling fan were out. During the first night, there was a lot of noise from the room above. We nearly bailed after the first night, but given the location of the event we were attending and lack of nearby options, we stayed. As I had mentioned this place to other family members prior to our visit, given the condition of this inn, I am so glad they decided to stay elsewhere.

We stayed at the Benjamin Prescott Inn for several days and enjoyed our time there. Chris and his family were very welcoming, offered excellent suggestions each morning for things to do in the area (specific to our interests) and made a delicious (and different) breakfast for us each day. He was always available to answer our questions and periodically checked in with to see how our stay was going.

My wife and I stayed at the Benjamin Prescott Inn during a stay to attend a family wedding at the Cathedral of the Pines, a very convenient 10 minute drive away. We’re so glad we chose to stay here! The inn is a beautiful restored 1850s farmhouse with gorgeous grounds and a walking path through farmland out back, complete with mountain views. We experienced 2 flight delays getting here and weren’t able to arrive until midnight rather than our intended arrival of 4pm. We made sure to call ahead to Chris, the innkeeper, who put us at ease and made us feel like family from our first phone conversation during a very stressful travel experience. Chris kindly stayed up late to welcome us and show us to our room. Chris prepared a full delicious breakfast every morning and graciously accommodated my wife’s gluten-free dietary restriction. He was incredibly friendly and made us feel at home at every turn. We would highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
