This is my top choice for both my travels and staycations. The room is consistently comfortable, allowing for complete relaxation. I'm absolutely loving the new toiletries; the scent is so therapeutic. The breakfast spread is fantastic too, offering a wide selection of Chinese options like Shanghai egg pancakes, wontons, and noodles, alongside Western choices such as pastries, croissants, bacon, and various egg preparations. Having stayed at SLH hotels in other countries before, I chose The Sukhothai Shanghai, the only one in the city, this time, and it truly exceeded my expectations! I was very satisfied with everything from the overall environment, room facilities and layout, to the quality of service 👍. Especially the color scheme of the room, which was very relaxing. The restaurant staff were also very attentive, making sure my child was safe in the high chair, which was very heartwarming! The room design was quite good, and the temperature control worked perfectly. The bedding was comfortable to sleep on. The birthday decorations were a thoughtful touch. The TV was large and supported screen casting. The complimentary water bottles were huge and made of glass, which was great. My only minor regret was that the front desk staff on the day of check-in told me that the dining and spa credits couldn't be combined. After having dinner at the ground floor restaurant, I didn't get to use the spa for the rest of my stay. When I checked my package details later, it clearly stated that they should be interchangeable. The front desk staff at check-out, however, was very efficient and excellent.

The breakfast offers a great mix of Chinese and Western options, with a wide variety and good taste, all enjoyed in a comfortable and elegant dining environment. Highly recommended. The room is quiet with ample space. The bathroom features a smart toilet, and the shower and bathtub area is very spacious. The only drawback is that the bed is a bit too soft; turning over creates a bit of a disturbance, which affected my sleep 💤.
