Hotel 81 Premier Princess

Traveling with my family of three, my child's eyes became red and swollen from an infection, and I myself was itchy. The bedding was dirty, causing red spots all over my body, and my legs were bitten and swollen. The listing stated it was only 2.4 km by car, but it's actually over a 20-minute walk from the subway station. My feet were sore and blistered from all the walking. From the subway station to the hotel, with a child in tow, we had to pass through two 'yellow light districts' with touts outside asking 'Do you want a massage?'. I really didn't want my child to see that, so we had to detour the whole way, walking in the street, which was disgusting! The hotel itself is very basic and the soundproofing is terrible; it's not even as good as low-cost motels back home. At over 800 RMB a night, including tax, it's not cheap, is it? If you're traveling with kids, avoid this hotel! Also, Ctrip's booking was non-cancellable and more expensive than other platforms!

The quilt was full of hair when I pulled it back, and my skin started itching as soon as I sat on it. It was incredibly dirty. No shower gel, toilet paper, or any toiletries were provided.

The hotel is right in the center of four different subway stations, but each is about a kilometer away. You'll see a lot of Indian people on the streets, and there are many Indian restaurants around. I booked a standard double room which didn't have a fridge. The duvet was folded in a strange 'sandwich' style, not in a cover – I've never seen that before! The room was small with a floor-to-ceiling window that couldn't be opened. The neighborhood itself is quiet, but my neighbor was incredibly noisy. For all three days I was there, a child would start yelling 'Papa, Papa, Papa!' at 6 or 7 AM, and his dad just ignored him. It was really annoying. The front desk said rooms are cleaned every two days, but mine was cleaned daily. The hand soap dispenser was broken and the outer casing kept falling off. Water pressure and temperature were fine. There was a direct drinking water tap, but I didn't dare drink from it. The hairdryer was pretty basic, so it's best to bring your own. Also, no disposable slippers, so bring those too. There's a small convenience store nearby, but it doesn't have much stock. The bus stop is quite close, just a hundred or two hundred meters away, and there are many buses that can take you almost anywhere in Singapore. However, if you have the option, I'd recommend staying somewhere closer to a subway station.

The hotel is in a good location in this area. For this price in Singapore, it's definitely worth it and acceptable.
