We stayed at Tamu as a couple for 11 nights — 4 nights in a beachfront tent and the rest in a jungle room. The beachfront tent was an amazing experience and something we’d absolutely recommend if you want to try something different. It really feels like luxury camping right by the sea. One thing to be aware of is that it can get noisy during windy nights and early mornings when the long-tail boats start passing by. Earplugs are a good idea. The jungle room was also fantastic and better suited if you want a bit more comfort. The outdoor bathroom was especially cool and a really nice touch. Tamu’s location on Pagoda Beach is incredible. The beach is calm and never crowded, which we loved. Being able to sit barefoot in the sand for breakfast, lunch, and dinner was one of the highlights of our stay. The staff treated us extremely well throughout our visit. Ann and Savai at reception made our trip even better by always helping us out with questions and making sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant staff were all also great. During breakfast, Samar and Mean took wonderful care of us, and at dinner, Chai always provided excellent service. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for better hospitality. They truly made Tamu feel like home, and we will miss both the place and the amazing staff. We hope to come back to Tamu one day and see everyone again. /Carl and Tess
