Saltair Inn Waterfront B&B

The Saltair Inn is absolutely lovely, perfectly located, meticulously maintained, and the hosts are incredibly kind and attentive! This is a special place!

We had a great week at Saltair Inn. The location and inn amenities were great. The breakfast was incredible each day. Matt, Kristi and Emily were wonderful and made us feel at home.

We’ve been to MDI many times and cannot think of a better place to stay than Saltair. Kristi & Matt treated us like old friends. We loved everything about the inn…fantastic breakfast, beautiful views, prime (yet quiet) location, and top notch hospitality. What a fabulous place to call home for a week!

We spent three days in June at the Inn, staying in the first floor room. The room was amazing. We loved the two fire places and the separate sitting area. The view of the water was so nice in the morning having our coffee. Matt and Kristi were great and knowledgeable hosts, giving us great restaurant tips and advice on navigating parking and Acadia National Park trails. The breakfasts were delicious and a great way to fuel up before the day. One added bonus was the discovery of the sandbar right outside of the Inn, which, at low tide, allows you to walk over to Bar Island. The location of the Inn was ideal for being able to easily walk into Bar Harbor. We are already planning our return trip. Thank you for the hospitality!

The Inn is located at the perfect location walkable to downtown Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park is close by. The water & sand bar are viewable from the porch on the rocking chair. The yard is beautiful & inside the Inn is beautiful. We stayed in the Chart Room & were extremely comfortable for the three nights we were there. The breakfasts are so creative & wonderful. Kristi & Matt & family are wonderful hosts & very knowledgeable of the area. I can’t imagine a more relaxing peaceful place to stay. Can’t wait to return for another adventure. Thank you

I’m not someone who typically writes reviews—good or bad—but our stay at SaltAir Inn was so exceptional that I felt compelled to share our experience. First, the location is absolutely perfect. As the saying goes: location, location, location! SaltAir Inn sits just outside the heart of downtown Bar Harbor, making it an easy walk to restaurants, shops, and attractions without the hassle of battling for parking. Yet despite its proximity to town, the property feels peaceful and secluded. The inn is situated right on the water, with a beautiful sprawling lawn, Adirondack chairs perfectly positioned for relaxation, and stunning ocean views that never get old. There is even direct ocean access from the property, making it easy to launch a kayak or canoe and explore the coastline. What truly sets SaltAir Inn apart, however, are the innkeepers, Kristi and Matt. From the moment we arrived until the day we left after our six-night stay, they were incredibly warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure every guest had a wonderful experience. Their hospitality elevates an already beautiful property into something truly special. The breakfasts deserve special recognition as well. Each morning featured a freshly prepared, made-to-order hot breakfast that rivaled anything you would find in a fine restaurant. During our stay we enjoyed delicious waffles, fluffy pancakes, quiche, croque monsieur, poached pears, and other wonderful creations. Every breakfast was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. SaltAir Inn combines an unbeatable waterfront location, outstanding accommodations, exceptional food, and hosts who clearly love what they do. Our stay exceeded every expectation, and we would return in a heartbeat. If you are planning a trip to Bar Harbor, do yourself a favor and stay here—you will not be disappointed.

What an absolutely serene and beautiful place this bed & breakfast is. So close to downtown Bar Harbor (of course we walked the few blocks over to MDI Ice Cream!) We stayed here for a few days to celebrate our anniversary. Matt and Kristi could not be any nicer or more accommodating. The breakfast every morning (it was something different everyday and the next day’s was better than the last!) is something we will remember forever, made right in the kitchen and brought to us fresh and delicious. Being able to sit out back and watch the land bridge appear and disappear with the tide while reading our books was a treat. It was such a quiet and beautiful stay, the location really is unbeatable. We cannot recommend this Inn enough. We are already planning to return, next time during the Fall season.

Matt and Kristi are wonderful hosts. The atmosphere at the Saltair is welcoming and luxurious. Our room was large and comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious. The location could not be more perfect. The views are gorgeous. We would definitely stay here again.
