Hotel Prati

A two-star hotel in an ideal location near Vatican City, gelato shops, shopping areas, and restaurants. I was warmly greeted on a hot day and was allowed to check in early. The room was small but clean, and I felt very safe. It is a short seven-minute walk to the nearest SIT airport bus station. I loved the 24-hour front desk, which allowed me to refill my water bottle and grab a banana before my early departure. The only negatives were the requirement to turn in your key when you leave the hotel and that the safe did not work in my room.

Nice staff, gorgeous building, marble everywhere and decor is nice. The breakfast is actually as good as you'd get somewhere in a nearby cafe. You can leave your luggage in a room before or after check-in and check-out. However, if little things such as small imperfections in floors bother you then it's not a place for you, head to Marriott. Cleaning ladies are very helpful and joyful. Electric only works when you insert your room key into a pocket by the door. You are asked to leave keys at the reception when you go out. My guess is pickpocketing is out of control in Rome and it's better this way :-)

Staff very helpful. Fillipi made sure his replacement for the end of his shift was ok because he was not feeling well. I say this is because when staff care for each other then you can tell how they will treat you.

The location is very central-close to the Vatican and St. Peter’s square. That’s about the only positive thing I can say about it. The room I stayed in was slightly bigger than a closet. I’m not even sure if the blanket was changed? It had an unpleasant odour, although the concierge downstairs was kind enough to give me a new one. Stay here if you can’t find anything else and you value a prime location, but if you’re willing to walk or take surface level transport, there are plenty of better value and cleaner hotels elsewhere.

It is just 10 min easy walk from piazza S. Pietro and the Vatican, it allows you to check in late (has staff on site). The room was small but perfect for my need, hot water, tv, breakfast. Everything was great. Very happy with the stay.

Bathroom needed things repaired, lights burned out, toilet seat broken. Rooms were too small but hallways were nicely kept. Great location but too expensive for such a minimal breakfast offering.
