Lovely hotel with lots of character and nice staff. We will return.

Perfect location, the hotel is right in the middle of St Martin, yet so peaceful we found we could really switch off and relax. We enjoyed the history and character of the hotel. Our room was large and beautifully decorated, the bar and walled gardens were delightful, we really appreciated the swimming pool. My wife enjoyed two treatments at the spa, both wonderful. The staff were really personal, attentive and friendly. Breakfast was very good, lots to choose from and we enjoyed eating on the terrace. Wonderful hotel - a perfect first stop on our road trip to the south. We will return!

We stayed for 3 nights in the middle of August. We booked a family suite, which according to the website had air-conditioning, subject to availability. On arrival, it transpired that non of this type of room had air-conditioning. If we had known this we would have booked a different room and felt a bit misled. Management - update the website please (easy fix!) But - the staff are lovely, the rooms and grounds are super pretty. The pool is perfect (our 6 year old loved it), and its location is second to non. There is safe bike party in the courtyard and do book & pay for the private parking as it is worth it. I would recommend this hotel to others but only if they contact the hotel first before booking in summer to 100% get air-conditioning as it did taint our stay - we had come from a 4 star hotel in Bordeaux with air-con so we felt the heat even more!

A truly wonderful & enjoyable stay. We loved the homely atmosphere created by the lovely staff. Such a pleasure to stay in such a luxurious and spacious place in the centre of St Martin.

Our family would highly rate the 5 bedroom villa following a 5 night stay in June this year and did not regret paying slightly more for it than than other villa rental options in Ile de Re towns which were accessible on popular booking sites. It is tastefully decorated and well-equipped, though some kitchen equipment and the garden furniture would merit a refresh. The hotel staff, particularly the manageress, were warm, helpful and offered a high 4 star level of service. The hotel appears popular with British tourists. It is a 2 minute stroll from the villa to the centre of the Saint-Martin-de-Re.

My family and I spent a week in this wonderful hotel.Excellent staff, accommodation and location. I highly recommend it.

At 350 euros a night I would have expected air conditioning. It doesn’t state on the website that not all rooms aren’t equipped. It was a surprise to find a cumbersome floor fan in the room which didn’t actually cool the room down. No hairdryer or conditioner, again for the price these are basic expectations. Be aware if you are travelling with children under 5 they are not allowed to use the pool, a little puzzling as it’s described as family friendly. Lovely breakfast and bar staff.

La Baronnie is a wonderful historical hotel well situated in St Martin de Re. Staff ensure that guests have a great experience and nothing is too much trouble. All staff members were friendly and customer focused with a particular mention for Marion on reception who was most helpful and informative. Rooms are individually designed and very well appointed. Breakfast was a pleasure sitting in the courtyard and we were pleased to see the emphasis on locally sourced products. Bar 1721 offers some great cocktails wines and tapas style food in a lovely setting . We had a wonderful stay and pass on our thanks to the staff.

We have loved La baronnie for many years, a real oasis of calm and tranquility in the hustle and bustle of st Martin. The bar keeps getting better and better, service, food and drinks offering. It’s always nice to see the owners pottering about and they clearly care about their guests. The pavilions are extra special, and all the touches are thoughtful and considerate. We will be back again and again! Merci beaucoup
