We chose this hotel due to its location and having a swimming pool. We had previously stayed happily at Terres Rouges who have a pool but are further from central Banlung. We checked in after having been trekking in jungle for two days, desperate for a hot shower, a swim in the pool and as we were worn out a drink and feed at the hotel rather than going out. Shower started hot but quickly turned luke warm, no way you could fill the lovely big bath with hot water, checked pool from our balcony it had about 25cm of water in it and debris littered the surrounds, it has clearly not been usable for sometime , staff unable to advise when would reopen. Room safe was locked, staff member came quickly when I called to say I couldn’t open to put in my own code, he used translation app to tell me “ I can’t open it either”. Went up to Skybar all in darkness down to restaurant in lobby, also closed. Reception staff confirmed restaurant and bar not operating. In the morning found coffee bar also not operating. Basically no functions other than reception, security and cleaning seemed to be operational. Hotel is well located in central Banlung, rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable but the offer falls well short of the listing in Tripadvisor. It is low season and maybe will change in high season but suggest confirm what facilities are operational before booking or stay elsewhere
