Americas Best Value Inn Stonington-Mystic

The best thing about my room was the renovated tiny bathroom. It had nice marble and sink but the toilet seat was loose. And that was just the beginning of the poor state of things. The room was pretty clean but the door paint had been chipped and not repainted and the door handle was barely functional. I definitely used the deadbolt lock. The curtains on the window were a solid panel so you couldn't really open them. I slid them aside. Fun fact: the metal box the mattress sits on makes a cool "gong" noise when you accidentally kick it. This is a very basic no where else to stay kind of place. The kind of sad motel room you see in films about people on the run. Nice staff and bathroom, so they got some stars for that.

It gave off an older hotel vibe, which we were looking for. The property overlooks fields and a marina which was really nice. They have some channels and they did provide a TV guide. It's better to just manually press the numbers for channels instead of flipping up or down, it's analog channels. Kind of have off late 90s early 2000s vibe. Really good for the price. Didn't have coffee in the room, but the rooms were very spacious and relatively clean. I would book them again. Also close to mystic, 10 minutes away, not that far from the beaches either.

No activity,it was pet friendly but not fresh and clean yucky rug and bedspread older were upstairs and stairs were steep.not family friendly

Black hairs on my bed and bathroom….storm door was broken and I ended up with 8 stitches in the heal of my foot and no apology or any sort of compensation….i would not recommend.

The motel could use an upgrade. I was concerned that the door on the room wasn’t locked and easy to get in. Bathroom door dodnt shut. Staff was pleasant. No amenities but it was an inexpensive hotel

Water in shower was cold. Front door was cracked in several places from what look like an attempted break in prior. Door was an old fashioned key which was not secure in anyway. Room initially didn’t look to bad. When I checked in I mentioned I had a dog with the staff. They charged me an extra the next day upon checking out which was never mentioned when checking in. Poor management skills but cheaper option in the area

Room was clean and warm. Staff cleaned my room well and brought fresh towels daily. Would Stay there again

The curtains had blood on them and the bathroom and bed were dirty
