Tintswalo Atlantic

We had a spectacular stay at Tintswalo Atlantic. The view, location and service were faultless, with Patrick as standing out as the star of the show, making our stay extra memorable. Unfortunately, my husbanded contracted food poisoning on our last night there, after trying the tuna tartare, which sadly cut our celebrations for his 40th birthday short. We notified the hotel GM in the hope that this would help keep future guests from experiencing the same thing, but didn’t hear back. If it weren’t for this one unfortunate incident / lack of follow up, we’d have rated this stay 10/10. We do hope to be back.

Whatever anyone tells you about how fantastic this place is..... it's even better than that. A total luxurious spoil and treat. The staff are remarkable. All of them. Sam, Johnathen, Blessed, too many to name - all so lovely. The location - breathtaking. The food - world class. Our "special occasion" visit was pimped to another level. We actually have no words.

Our stay at Tintswalo Atlantic was nothing short of exceptional. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. A wood burning fireplace made our stay even more cozy. The view from our room was nothing short of breathtaking. All in all, I couldn’t have asked for a better venue to celebrate my 65th birthday. I can’t wait to stay again. 10/10.

Our stay at Tintswalo Atlantic was truly memorable and one of the highlights of our honeymoon trip. The setting is absolutely breathtaking, with an incredible atmosphere that makes you feel completely disconnected from the world in the best possible way. A special shoutout to Patrick, who went above and beyond to make our stay feel personal and special. His attention to detail and genuine hospitality really stood out and made a lasting impression on us. The entire staff was warm, attentive, and welcoming throughout our stay, always making us feel cared for without being intrusive. The chef also deserves special recognition every meal was outstanding. The food was consistently delicious, beautifully presented, and easily among the best we had during our travels. Thank you to the whole Tintswalo Atlantic team for creating such a special experience for us. We would absolutely love to return someday.

We were disappointed with our stay. The road to the hotel was closed due to a cycling event, and although we had been in contact with the hotel a few days earlier, we were never informed. Actually they invited us for lunch. When we tried to reach them, no one answered by phone, email, website, or chat. After several hours they finally called back and told us the road would open at 16:30, which turned out to be wrong — it didn’t open until 18:00 (made it possible to check in at 19:00). The reception staff were unable to make any decisions and had no authority to offer any form of compensation and told us to contact management after our stay. We tried to file a complaint, but the only offer was a discount on a future visit, which is not useful since we don’t live nearby. After that, they stopped responding. Their explanation for not offering compensation was simply that we “got a place to sleep,” even though we spent the entire day trying to figure out how to reach the hotel without any help from them. We could have found a place to sleep for far less than 1000 USD per night.... The location is nice but very remote (and there is only one roard to reach it!), and there is some noticeable wear and tear. Photos speak for themselves. Tintswalo comes highly recommended with excellent amenities and an enviable location even though it is within in easy reach of the city just outside Houtbay it feels like you are miles away from everything right on the ocean. Beautiful food, fantastic views and one of the best locations in Cape Town.
