I want to preface this by saying, the regular staff I dealt with were all nice and courteous to us. There was only one person of the staff I had an issue with. Unfortunately, that one person was a manager, which might explain some of the other problems we had at this hotel. We stayed for 3 nights, in one of their 2-room suites, so our kids could have their own bed. We chose housekeeping every other day. The pool area is hot. The pool water is hot. We liked it. Clock in the pool is busted. Again, a detail that management should have already fixed. The room was in pretty rough shape. In one bedroom there's a desk with a chair; the chair was broken. The phone in that room wouldn't dial out to the front desk. The bed was rock-hard and hurt me and my wife to sleep on. In the other bedroom the bed was in better shape, but the shower didn't drain properly; the drain plug was just hanging out, unattached. At one point a toilet backed up, and I went for a plunger -- there was none. Had to walk down to the front desk and ask for a plunger. Again, staff was nice, I asked the maintenance guy to just leave the plunger outside our door (I wouldn't ask the staff to unclog a toilet FOR me!) and he did. Plunger wasn't even the right size for the toilet, so it didn't make a good "seal". My wife's sitting there laughing incredulously, as I smush the thing into the toilet to unclog it. Anyway, later on Day 3 we run out of clean towels, all trash bins are full -- housekeeping never showed up. So again, I walk down to the front desk and say we need trash taken out and clean towels. I hear the manager call out to her front desk staffer -- easily within earshot of me -- that housekeeping already went home for the day. It rubbed me the wrong way that instead of the manager stepping out to tell me that herself, she stayed in her office and let her staffer take the brunt of the complaint. So again, I was nice, front desk lady was nice, they sent up bedsheets and towels, and the same maintenance guy came up to take out one of the trash bins. On the way back up, I got a few drinks from the "market" behind the front desk. Half the drinks, while not expired by date, were definitely expired by taste. So I wouldn't recommend using that either. Our saving grace is that the price point was OK, and it was only a 3-night stay. Some good points to balance this out...? The window A/C units in the room worked well. Worked better than I thought they would; rooms actually got a little cold with them on. The bedding itself (not the mattress) was comfortable. Pool area was hot, so if you like hot, that's a thumbs up... their breakfast was ok, I'd say it met expectations for a hotel at that price point. It was quiet in the hotel itself; no problems with any other occupants. If you're visiting Mystic, be aware that cell reception in this area is poor -- and if you order dinner from DoorDash / Uber Eats in the area, your driver's location will probably cut out on y
