Stayed in a classic room at the Balthazar Hôtel & Spa – MGallery in Rennes and came away impressed on the whole. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the old town and within easy walking distance of the main sights, restaurants, and shops. The hotel is very clean. Housekeeping is thorough and attentive, and the air conditioning worked well throughout our stay. The one hiccup was a technical fault one night: a constant buzzing that made it hard to sleep. To their credit, the staff sorted it out immediately the following morning without any fuss. Where the experience fell short was the evening turndown service, which was slipshod. We noticed some rooms received it, but ours consistently did not. On one night housekeeping came by to drop off a couple of cookies, but the room itself wasn’t refreshed. For a property at this level, the inconsistency was disappointing. Aside from those issues, everything was well run and comfortable. A central, clean, and well-maintained hotel.

The staff were friendly and the room was decent. However, being right in the city center, there were often some strange characters outside the hotel entrance on weekends, which made it quite noisy. Overall though, it was still pretty good.

The hotel is chic and nice. The view and location is good too. Staff is very polite and helpful. Though The carpet looks a bit old. TV signal is not in function.

If you're staying in Rennes, this hotel in the city center is highly recommended! I was able to relax in a room with a bathtub.

The lady at the front desk is very enthusiastic and has a slight accent in English. We drove here by car and it was a bit difficult to find the hotel entrance. There is one near the parking lot The room facilities are all OK and the smell is very good
